The Girl From The Party

-Alec's P.O.V. -

I took the letter which she had left for me from my brother's hands. I looked into his eyes and pointed at the door. "It's personal." I tried not to sound as worried as I was feeling. It seemed that it worked, because the next thing my brother did, was to leave my room and shut the door quietly behind him.

I sat on my desk's chair and opened the letter. I just stared at it for a couple of seconds, realizing at that moment that everything was over and then I started reading it, feeling my own eyes burning and tears rolling down my cheeks.

I stood in front of the mirror in my room and fixed my hair. After taking my things, I made my way to the kitchen. Thankfully, it wasn't that crowded as usual. I checked the clock.

"It's early, sweetheart. What are you doing up that early?", said my mom, walking down the stairs. "I thought it would be nice if I prepared breakfast today.", I smiled at her and nodded towards the ingredients, which I had already placed on the counter. "So sweet of you", she kissed my forehead. "I'll take care of it.", she messed my hair and laughed. I rolled my eyes and sat down, after trying to fix my hair, using as a mirror the front camera of my phone.

Some minutes later, when the breakfast was almost ready, Aaron walked in the kitchen and sat down next to me. "Mmhm, smells amazing" he smiled widely. My mom returned the smile and served both of us. She then sat down and started eating too, asking questions here and there. I let Aaron answer most of the questions, since he liked talking more than I did.

"Wait, isn't dad home?", Aaron frowned and mom shook her head. "There was an accident last night and he was needed at the hospital.", she said softly. I could say, she didn't like that my dad had to work that much, but people could see how proud she was of him for saving all those lifes, everyday.

Aaron and I nodded as she stood up. "I have to go to the office, my sweet boys. Stay out of trouble in school. Alright?", Aaron and I nodded again. "Always.", Aaron said and stood up taking his bag. I mimicked his actions and after we both hugged our mother, we left the house. "Have you made plans for the day?", my twin brother asked me and I shook my head. "Why? Have you?", I raised one of my eyebrows. "Oh no,no. I was just curious..."he nodded and when I realized my brother's cheeks flushed red, I chuckled.

When we arrived at school, we went directly to our friends; Kathrine, Kaitlyn and Logan.

Kathrine Parker was the heart of our 'squad'. She wasn't that tall, but she wasn't that short either. Her hair color was a light blond and her eyes' a nice shade of green. She was supportive and she knew what to say, when to say it and how to say it. She was simply...amazing.

Kaitlyn Parker was Kathrine's younger sister. She was an exact copy of Kath, but only her hair was a darker shade of blond and her eyes were blue. She also had a whole different character. She was more... girl-ish. Not that Kath wasn't...

Logan Storm was Aaron and I's good friend. He stuck around for a long time and we considered him family. He was a tall guy and a good scorer in our football team. Both his hair and eyes' color were black.

"Good Morning, guys!" Kathrine said to us with a wide smile on her face. "So happy to see me, sweetheart ?", I chuckled as I hugged her. "Oh shut up.", she murmured and then waved at Aaron, who simply winked at her. Kaitlyn was sitting on Will's lap and didn't seem to notice either Aaron or me. Aaron started talking with Logan about some new gadget, in which they both seemed way too interested.

Kath and i rolled our eyes at the four of them and then laughed. "Isn't that the girl from the party on the weekend ?", she asked me while she looked over at the new girl, who was walking towards the building. I looked at the girl and nodded slowly. "That's the girl who spilled her drink on me.", I shook my head remembering the incident. Kath laughed and punched my shoulder playfully. "Lucky you.", I raised one of my eyebrows at her and was about to say something but the bell rung.

Aaron started walking with Logan towards the building. Kath sighed and started following them, forcing me to walk next to her, by holding my hand. Kaitlyn and Will took their time as it seemed and waited for the yard to empty.

When we arrived at our class, Logan sat down in a desk that way at the front of the class and Aaron made a grimace. "No way...", he patted his back and made his way to a couple desks behind of Logan. "There's no problem if I...", Kath gave me an innocent smile and I chuckled. "Go for it.", was all I said and she rushed to sit next to Aaron. I looked around the class for some seconds. I liked sitting at the back desks, but all of them were taken, except for one... I made my way to the mysterious girl and sat down next to her not asking for permission.

"You can't sit here.", she glared at me. "Good morning to you too.", I chuckled. She sighed and put her earphones on. I stared at her for some seconds but soon, one of the teachers walked in and welcomed us to our last year of high school.

After a long while, two other teachers walked in and gave us the books, which we would use this year. Aaron seemed excited and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his excitement. I, on the other hand, just stared at them and sighed. The girl next to me made a face looking at all those books and nodded to herself. She looked at me and raised one of her eyebrows. "What?", she blinked. I smiled at her. "Oh... it's the jerk from that party...", she whispered and shook her head. "I see, you remember me...", I was whispering when a teacher interrupted me saying that we were free to go.

The girl stood up and was about to leave, but Aaron and Kath blocked the way, trapping her in between us and the wall. "Come on, Alec... get up and let's go for that coffee...", Kath whined and Aaron looked at the girl. "Oh the girl who spille-", he laughed and extended his right hand towards her. "It's nice to meet you in person. I'm Aaron Mikaelson.". The girl smiled at him and shook his hand with hers. "I'm Mia Morgan.",she looked from Aaron to Kath waiting for her to introduce herself. Kath hugged her. "Im Kathrine Parker, but you can call me Kath.". Mia seemed surprised by Kath's action, but slowly wrapped her arms around Kath and patted her back. "And I am Alec Mikaelson.", I said with a proud smile on my face. "No one asked you.... I think.", Mia said as she took her bag in her hands. Kath chuckled and Aaron joined her. I rolled my eyes at them and took my bag. "Are we leaving or not ?", I said frustrated. "Would you like to come with us", Kath invited Mia to come with us and Aaron continued,"It would be a pleasure for us.". The girl nodded and walked with us towards the exit.

We decided to go to a cafe-shop that had opened a couple of weeks ago. Mia seemed nice. She talked mostly with Kath and Aaron during our walk to the 'The Sweet Coffee'. When we arrived and got inside, Mia chose a table and took the menu. She looked so focused on what the coffee-shop has to offer and I chuckled, sitting opposite of her. Kath sat next to Mia and Aaron sat next to me. "Welcome to 'The Sweet Coffee', how could I help you?", a waiter said and smiled at the girls. "A cafe Latte for me.", Mia said and then added "and a doughnut, please.". Kath took the lead then. "A Cappuccino with Caramel, please.", Aaron nodded. "Make that a double.", he said and then the waiter looked at me. "I'd like a strawberry smoothie and a doughnut.".

"So... how do you cope with the twins ?", Mia asked Kath, while Aaron and I rolled our eyes at her question. "I have my own ways", she winked at her. "Which one are you dating?", Kath blushed and I cleared my throat. "We are just good friends. That's all.", said Aaron, placing his elbows on the table and then his face on his hands. After the waiter placed everything on the table and left, Mia said,"Clearly... there's something between you and the mister jerk.", I shook my head. "No, not at all.", I took a sip from my smoothie and smirked. "Why are you asking? Are you interested?", I asked and she grimaced. "I'm not into jerks.", she shook her head but then smiled at Aaron. "Your brother looks cute though.", she continued. Kath laughed and Aaron blushed. "Alec is not that bad though... don't be that harsh on him.", said Kath and gave me a smile. "Oh thank you, Kath.", I said returning the smile. Mia smirked at me and nodded, "oh I know.", she said and passed Kath a small paper note. "I have to go. I'll see you three tomorrow.", she said and left after paying for the things she had ordered.

Kath smirked at me and after taking her phone and typing in something, she passed the note to me. "Just because I know you...", I rolled my eyes and saved Mia's number on my phone.
