chapter three

Dawn's pov

We circled each other and I watched his ever move. He snarled and fake lunged at me, but I kept circling him, not faulting my movements. He stopped walking and so did I. We starred at each other and all of a sudden he ran at me. Right as he jumped at me, I lunged at him and dug my fangs into his neck.

He yelped and barely got any skin when he bit at my neck. I got back down on four legs and shook my head rapidly. The taste of blood filling my mouth. He wiggled out of my jaws and jumped at my back. I spun around quickly and slammed into his chest. We rolled around in the dirt, jaws snapping. I noticed he was getting weaker and then he let his wolf take over. Nova was fighting at me to let her take control and I gave in. She took over and my eyes changed from their normal silver color to a bright blood red.

      His wolf noticed this and got desperate. He kicked nova in the stomach with his hind legs and jumped on top of her. She dug her sharp claws into his soft underbelly, and clawed. His wolf whimpered loudly and nova got out from under him and linens him down. She took his throat in her mouth and bit down not hard enough to kill him, but hard enough to hurt. He howled out in pain and went limp in her jaws. He tucked his tail between his legs and whined lowly, showing that he gives up. Nova let him go and have out a loud and proud victory howl.

     The few of my pack and my sister cheered and Nova gave me back control. Blake shifted back into his human form and cowered "please, don't kill me!" he begged. I can choose death for him, let him live, let him stay alpha, or make him leave his pack. I mind linked my sister.

"Tell him I don't want his pack, that he can stay alpha" I told her.

She told him what I said and he sighed in relief. "Thank you, Alpha Dawn" he thanks and I nodded. I heard a loud yelp of pain and the sound of a whip. I ran towards the sound and alpha Blake yelled "WAIT NO STOP!" but didn't listen. I ran into his pack house, still in wolf form, and ran down to the basement. I stopped and listened. I heard the sound of laughing, whining, and a whip coming from a large brass door. I rammed into the door and busted through.

Lucas's pov

I yelped in pain as the whip hit my tender belly. They had beat me so hard that I accidentally shifted into my fox form.

I can't shift back into my human form, because they broke one of my back legs. A while later I heard the victory howl of the female alpha and yelped again when the big one kicked me. The little one started laughing and suddenly the door was busted off it's hinges! A huge pitch black wolf with silver eyes stood in the door way. We connected eyes and something amazing happened.

Both dawn and Lucas's pov

I locked eyes with the shifter before me and the only word that rang out in my mind was Mate.

Dawn's pov

I tore my eyes says from my little fox mate and growled at the two male werewolves. Black smoke started coming off my body and they screamed. I jumped on the little one and snapped his legs. I then tackled the bigger one and ripped out his throat for hurting my mate. I slammed his dead body against the wall and looked back at my mate. I took a step towards him and he started shaking from fear.

Lucas's pov

The black wolf took a step towards me and I shivered in terror. The wolf stopped in her tracks and slowly laid own.

"She is our mate! She will not hurt us!" Sprint told and and I shook my head. "D-did you not see her kill the big werewolf and brake the little ones legs!?!" I screeched. "She did that to keep us safe! Please, for us, give her a chance. Let her help us, she can protect us!" he told me in a pleading tone. "Okay.....I'll give it a shot" I told him and he sighed in relief. "Thank you" he told me.

My mate looked at me and I looked at her. I looked back at my leg and whined loudly.

Dawn's pov

My mate gestured towards his hind leg and whined. I stood back up and gently took a step forward. I kept walking to him when he did nothing. I got up in front of him and looked down at him. He looked back up at me and I lowered my head. I rubbed my head against his softly and he froze. He rubbed his head against mine lightly and made a sound of pain. I looked at his hind leg and whined. His right hind leg was broke and he was beaten up pretty bad. I nuzzled his neck and licked at his his scruff. He looked at me with his big blue eyes and nodded. I stood up and gently took him into my jaws. He whimpered and I twisted my head around. I laid him on my back and he straddled my back.

I started walking back up stairs with him on my back. When I got outside the house, Alpha Blake ran up to me. "Now.....you can't have him" he said and I felt my mate tense up. I growled at this and Alpha Blake gulped. "You said that if I win I get to choose one of your pack or prisoner to take with me. I'm taking him" I told him telepathically and he sweat dropped. "Well-i-you cant-yes-i-ummm" he balabered and I walked away from him.

"Shift into your wolf forms. We're leaving, immediately." I told my pack and they shifted.

My sister trotted up to me and my mate started shaking and buried his face between my shoulders. I growled at my sister telling her to stay away and she tilted her head, confused.

"I'll tell you when we get home" I told her and she nodded.

Alpha Blake tried to stop me from leaving but I let out a loud demonic roar. He screamed and ran into his pack house, while his pack scattered. We trotted away from his territory, but when I started trotting my mate yelped out in pain from the jarring. I whimpered and started walking, carefully, aware of my injured mate upon my back. My sister and my few pack members looked confused at me but kept walking. It got dark and since all I could do was walk the trip was taking way longer.

"Just go ahead of me. I'll meet you back at the pack house. Don't ask questions" I told my pack and they looked concerned at me and ran ahead of me. My sister stayed behind and looked at me. "Why don't you get out of a walk?" she asked and I didn't answer. "Here give me the fox" she said and went to grab him with her mouth. He whined and I......
