The morning came quickly, the sun beaming from the windows and landing in the darkness of the abode. It woke me up- sitting upright and rubbing my eyes, my chest began to sting.

Clearing my throat and placing my hand upon it, I breathed in slowly- assuming it would go away.

When footsteps interrupted the sweet silence, I pivoted my head towards that direction- I wasn't sure what time it was, does he even have a clock?

Sliding my legs off the couch and letting my feet touch the floor- the coldness sent shivers up my legs, but I ignored it.
Standing up, I stretched out my arms- the tension releasing from my body. It felt good, especially after sleeping on something not exactly my size.

The cracking of my back after being arched was satisfying to my ears, I scratched my head- hair shifting in between my fingers. I felt like my worries were gone-

Until Jeff spoke.

"Ben still isn't back?"

Directing my head, I glanced out the window- he was right, it was bright as hell out and his door was still wide open.
Not one trace of him.

"I hope he's not just messing around, I'll kick his ass." He mumbles, I hadn't responded to his statements- I was still upset, as I should be- however,Jeff seemed to brush it off like it never happened.

That pissed me off.

After a moment of silence, Jeff peered over the couch and muttered.
"Are you still ma-"

"Yes!" I snapped, I already knew what he was going to ask- I want to yell and scream at him, but I know it's not gonna do anything.

"Oh..." he sighs to himself, averting his eyes.

"I want to go outside." I say, the need for fresh air was strong- I can't calm down my anxiety and I need actual air- not this musty smell of a house.

"It might be dangerous." He states, I slightly turned my head and stared directly in his eyes- I was gonna go out wether he said yes or no.

"B-But a few minutes couldn't hurt." He restated, he also nervously smiled- I got up from the couch and made my way to the door, putting my shoes on.
Jeff followed after me, stepping off the porch Jeff caught my attention.

"It's not exactly safe to be walking, why not just sit on the porch swing."

Stopping in my tracks, I answered.

"I need to stretch my legs."

Jeff looked back at the house and back at me, as if contemplating his decision- before sighing loudly and walking after me, hands deep into his pockets.

While we walked we didn't have any conversation, rather I was focused on Jeff who was looking all around us every few seconds. He looked worried.

"C-Can we turn back now?" He asks.

"Jeff we've been walking for 3 minutes." I growl.

"What are you even afraid of?" I quickly added.

"There's a lot of things, first of all- Ben has been missing, which means he's probably dead somewhere!" He pauses then continues his explanation.

"Second, there are things out here that can tear us apart to shreds. Also, there are other people are here who can take you and hurt you. "

He stops talking, then I mumble.
"Are you done?"

His caustic glare at me seemed genuine, I stared back- soon we had both stopped in our tracks and were just mad at each other.

"I don't think you truly understand." Jeff says, crossing his arms over one another.

"No I understand." I reply.

"Then we're turning back." He states, turning his body around. Rolling my eyes, I scoffed.

"You're a big baby."

He halts, then slightly turns his head to me.
"I'm not gonna argue with you, just- let's go. I mean it."

"You're just a scaredy-" I was stopped by a drop of liquid landing on my head, reaching my hand over and touching it- I examined the red splash of blood spread across my fingers.

I gasped when I realized it was blood, stepping forward and then turning to look above where I once stood- Jeff questioned my actions.

"What?"

I struggled to gets my words out, now I'm the one who is scared.
"Blood dr-dropped on my head, and I-" pausing, I gulped down my stress.

"I don't know where it came from!"

"Blood?" He asks, I nod.

He then slowly approached the spot where I used to stand, his head looking directly up into the mystery of the trees. I payed attention to his facial expressions, wanting to see if he noticed something or not.

"Okay we need to go-" Jeff's pace quickened and I copied.

"Did you see anything?" I asked.

He took a moment to answer.
"No,I didn't- but this is why I didn't want to leave the house."

Looking down at the smudges of crimson color, I cringed- someone else's blood is literally on my hand right now, touching the same place I discovered the blood- more of it seemed to appear.

Soon enough, I started to drip down my face. I began wiping it away, panicking at the sudden anxiety building up inside of me.

"It keeps on coming." My shaking voice erupted.

Jeff noticed my panic state and walked faster, grabbing my wrist and tugging it- wanting me to keep up with his pace.

"People can create illusions out here Y/n, try not to react to it."

Illusions?
So, is this not real?
Letting the thick liquid drip down my face, he hesitated when it reached the end of my chin. Then dropped to the ground beneath me, it evaporated.

Furrowing my eyebrows, I was bewildered to as how that can even happen.

"Why illusions?" I asked.

"It's basically like predator and prey out here, they use tactics to draw you in or create a diversion while they get ready to kill you." He explained, the house in sight. I felt a feeling of relief wash over me, maybe he was right- staying inside is the better option. However, it's still not completely safe.

"Help!" A chilling voice echoed from the depths of the forest, my head snapped towards that direction- the voice wasn't familiar to me at all- yet I was intrigued by it,I wanted to run towards it.

"H-Hey what if someone's in trouble!" I say, tugging slightly at the hand guiding me.

"It's not real Y/n, don't focus on it." He reassures, steps away from the abode.
