"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming it."

Gina watched closely as Laylah sat on the bed beside her, a TV remote in hand. She'd been showing her different channels on the TV, adjusting the volume for her as they spoke softly between one another.
'So this one right here will turn the volume up and down. And then this one if you want to change the channel, if you want to watch something different,' Laylah pointed out the buttons on the TV remote as JJ stood beside her.
'JJ,' A whisper came from behind them; 'Laylah.'
They turned to find Spencer in the doorway with a file tucked up to his chest, his eyes urgent.
'Here you go. I'll be right back. Then I'll show you a show I think you'll like,' Laylah winked before turning away.
The pair stepped just outside the room, looking to the man expectantly.
'Composite sketch of the unsub. Garcia's running facial recognition against her list of blue van owners,' Spencer showed them drawing; 'How's she doing?'
'It's a lot. She has no money, no family, a second-grade education, not to mention a lifetime of PTSD to deal with,' JJ sighed.
'Clear the door, clear the door, please,' A shout came before a nurse ran past them.
'One, oh, three. Code Blue,' A voice came through the P.A.
'That can't be good,' JJ strode forward so she could see around the corner.
'Dr. Givens, room one, oh, three. Code blue.'
'Given the amount of hospital staff and the level of urgency, it looks to me like Sheila might be coding,' Spencer stated.
'What's coding?' Gina's voice sounded right behind them.
'Gina, you need to get back in bed,' JJ sent her a smile.
'Is that Sheila's room?'
The girl surged forward, only to be pulled back.
'No, no, no,' Laylah spoke; 'Gina, let them work. You don't want to get in their way.'
Gina looked up at her, staring at her with scared eyes as she remained in her arms. But, when Sheila's mother began to cry out down the hall, she surged forward again.
'Is she ok?' She asked; 'Sheila! Sheila! What's wrong?'
Laylah tried to avoid her flailing hands as she tried to push out of her arms violently, but her hands still managed to hit her face.
'What's wrong with her? I have to help her! I have to help her!' Gina screamed as she was pulled into the woman's chest; 'Please! Please! Please.'
She shushed her softly as she ran her hand over her hair, 'She's in a better place now. Where no one can ever hurt her again.'
