Chapter 3

That Monday...

"Good morning, Aki!" greeted Minami to the unslept Akihisa.

"My 'summer' homework is done, in 2 days! Its long!" said Akihisa stressed.

"That's good~" Minami said cheerfully.

Akihisa smiled back, "So how's your trip to your grandma's?"

"Well, it turns out she's sick & we had to take care of her," Minami explained.

"I see," Akihisa said.

Then, Mizuki came in the room then sat at the back, trying to get away from Akihisa.

Akihisa felt guilty & had regret rejecting her, he'd wish he could turn back time & just confess his feelings too, but it's too late.

He looked at her then saw her looking back, they both quickly looked away as they blush. Minami was staring the whole time.

"Tell me, Aki. What did really happen between you two that weekend, huh?" Minami asked suspiciously.

"I told you, it was nothing..." Akihisa said as he look down.

"I know something happened! What is it!? Spill it!" Minami demanded.

"Well, uhm... Sh-she confessed her feelings to me that morning," Akihisa said as he blush.

"I-I see... Wh-what did you say?" Minami said as she looked down.

"I... Rejected her..." Akihisa answered.

No way! Th-that means... Aki likes someone else!? C-could it be... Me!? No, it can't be! I mean, it couldn't be, o-or could it... No! she thought. "I-I see," Minami fake smiled then walked away nervously.

Akihisa just stared at her.

Akihisa also has feelings for Minami but just like with Mizuki, he also can't confess, he feels nervous.

Later, during lunch break...

"Aki, do you wanna have lunch with me?" asked Minami cheerfully as she blush.

"Sorry but I didn't bring any lunch today," said Akihisa gloomily.

"I could share mine with you," smiled Minami.

"O-okay then, what do you have?" smiled Akihisa.

"Dumplings," Minami smiled as she showed her lunch box to him.

Akihisa picked one then ate it, "Its really yummy, who made them?" he asked.

"Me of course," Minami said. I made them specially for you, Aki. To show my appreciation for your feelings for me, she thought.

Flashback

"Minami!" Aiko Kudou yelled, calling Minami.

"Yes? What is it, Aiko?" she asked.

"I just found out something! This is gonna be exciting!" Aiko screamed happily.

"Y-yes!? What is it? Tell me!" Minami responded excitedly.

"I heard Yoshii likes you, a lot!" Aiko whispered happily.

"N-no way!? How did you find out!?" Minami blushed.

"I heard she rejected Mizuki & my friend heard him say it to Sakamoto," Aiko explained.

"R-really!? W-well... I-I feel the same way, you know..." Minami said as she blush.

"No way!? You must confess!" Aiko suggested.

"I-I will. Thank you for telling me all this," she said as she shakes her hand.

"No problem, I support you, Minami. Promise you'll never give up on love, alright?" Aiko smiled.

"Yes, I promise! Thank you again, Aiko!" Minami smiled then blushed.

Present Time

Minami was blushing while thinking of that flashback, she didn't notice that Akihisa was staring at her.

"Minami? A-are you alright?" he asked

Minami snapped out of her daydream, "A-ah? Yeah! I-I am," she said nervously.

"Why are you blushing?" Akihisa asked.

"I-it’s n-nothing!" Minami replied.

"Do you have a fever or something?" Akihisa asked.

"No. I told you, I'm fine Aki," Minami answered.

Akihisa just nodded then continue to eat his lunch.

"Uhm… Aki?" Minami said, Akihisa looked at her.

"Hm?" Akihisa answered.

"I-I need to tell you something," Minami said as she blush & poked her finger.

"Yes? What is it?" Akihisa smiled.

"I-I uhm..." Minami answered nervously till she finally said the words she was looking for, "I-I like you, Aki,"

Akihisa's eyes widened & couldn't believe what he heard. His childhood friend likes him? The one that is always beats him up? He doesn't know what to say. "M-minami... I..." he said.

"I really understand if you don't feel the same way," Minami said as she looks down but hoping for Akihisa's 'confession'.

Akihisa felt guilty again, he doesn't wanna hurt Minami the same way he hurt Mizuki, they were childhood friends, after all. He decided to give Minami a chance, "I-I do too, Minami," he said.

Minami's eyes widened & she blushed really hard, I knew it! she thought, "Oh, Aki..." Minami cried with joy as she hugged him.

"I don't like you, Aki. I love you." Minami said

Akihisa just blushed even thought he felt really guilty, "I do too... Minami..." he said.

Akihisa liked Minami but he loved Mizuki more, even though Akihisa & Minami were childhood friends, he had stronger feelings for Mizuki because of her niceness & sweetness to him. He gave Minami a chance for all the help she did when they were kids, she always defended him. Its the least he could do for his precious childhood best friend.

Minami was crying in his shoulders. Akihisa just patted her back then chuckled.

"Oh Aki, you made me so happy knowing that," Minami sobbed.

"I know that," Akihisa replied.

"So, are we in a relationship now?" Minami asked, blushing.

"I-I guess so," Akihisa replied, blushing as he scratches his head.

Minami just giggled then kissed his forehead.

Akihisa just chuckled then blushed.

You were right, Aiko Kudou, you were right! I'm so happy! Thank you very much! I won Aki's love! I won over Mizuki! Minami thought.

Aiko Kudou was watching from behind the door, "I'm so proud of you, Minami-san," she whispered to herself, Now its my turn, with Kouta Tsuchiya, she thought while blushing as she walks away.

Minami held Akihisa's hand, "Promise me something, Aki," she said.

"Yes?" Akihisa asked.

"Promise you'll never ever replace me to anyone, okay?" Minami blushed.

"Minami... I-" Akihisa said, he saw Minami was staring at him, waiting for his answer, "I promise... Minami..." he said as he looks down, fake smiling.

"I knew it..." said voice.
