"No problem kid." he took a glance at the doorframe, realizing we were still standing outside his room, "wanna come in and talk about it?"
"That'd actually be really nice," I nodded, we walked inside his room and it was very neat, kind of old school but then again it was Captain America. He sat on his bed and I plopped myself down on the floor maybe a couple feet away. He looked at me, waiting for me to start explaining what was going on with me and Tony. "It's just.. I feel bad for getting mad and defensive so quickly, and I know it was a bit explosive but in my defense he was never around much, and even when I tried to go to him he just kicked me out and pushed me away, when he came back from Afganistan, he changed completely. Like he stopped checking in with me, he stopped answering my calls, he literally blocked me out, and I don't even think he realizes what he did. And for him to be snooping into my business and what I'm doing? It was just so.. so.. unfair."
Steve looked at me and sighed, trying to think for the right thing to say, "Well kid that sounds like Tony alright, I can't say that the way he did it was the most effective, I know it's not. But give him another shot, you're the only family he has left and we deal with some dangerous people. I think what he's trying to do is protect you."
"Maybe..." I looked down, playing with my fingers, "I feel like I should talk to him.. just.. not now, if I went back he'd probably just give me more shit so I'll let him cool down."
"Sounds like a plan," Steve scratched his head before looking up, "you wanna train?"
My eyes lit up, "That, sounds like an even better plan, lets go!" I jumped up.
Honestly Steve was really cool, he reminded me of like that cool older brother, which is more than I can say for Tony. Anyways, he helped me find my clothes so that we can change into some activewear before we went. I decided to wear some black leggings and a white cropped thin hoodie. We went to a huge room, that had like punching bags, a sparring mat, basically an indoor gym, but a little stronger because well, it's a superhero gym. Steve ended up teaching me some basic combat moves, a few offense and a few defense to get me started. I picked it up relatively quickly, which was pretty good for me, but I was still nowhere near Avengers standards.
"Not too bad Stark," Steve commented, "after one more round we should go for a run."
"A-" I was out of breath, "A run? Geez Rogers are you even human?"
"Superhuman, so technically speaking, yes I am."
"Whatever you say old man," I laughed.
"You sound like someone I know," he said, referring to Tony, I just laughed.
"It kind of does, doesn't it."
I won the last round, but I'm pretty sure its just because I may have used my powers, a couple times. We ran to the park, running on a sidewalk that outlined the entire park, which was pretty big actually. In the middle of the run my legs were burning and I was sweating so much I probably could've filled a bottle. But I wanted to be apart of the avengers so I kept going and focused on following Steve, damn this man ran fast. I kept up with him throughout the whole run but my legs were basically jello and I couldn't feel them, like at all, no joke.
"Are you ok there kid?" he looked slightly concerned, and if I wasn't observant I probably wouldn't have noticed.
"I'm good, but I've never gotten that much of a workout in like the series of ever." I answered, "I actually can't feel my legs, I don't even know how I'm standing right now."
He laughed, "You'll get used to it, I train often so feel free to tag along anytime you like."
I nodded, "Noted," I wiped the sweat from my forehead, "how about we start going home?"
"Sure," Steve started running and I just sat there dumbfounded how he can keep running, "you coming Stark?"
"Dude." I stood there, groaning before going, "fine, let's go."
When I got home, my legs were dead, god they were going to hurt tomorrow. I thanked Steve before I started looking for the shower, to which I figured out I can just ask FRIDAY the directions for, which was honestly much easier. Once I got in and the warm water hit my face I felt relaxed, it kind of burned my skin but it felt nice. After showering I put on some booty shorts and a cropped sweatshirt. I walked out of the bathroom, my hair still slightly wet, and started looking for Tony's office, I figured he'd probably be ok by now. As I got closer, I heard voices, one of them being Tony.
"Alright kid, just wanted to update you, also I'm working on a new suit for you to keep permanently because that one you were using, I apologize but it was god awful." I heard Tony say, but then I heard a familiar voice respond.
"Oh uh are you sure Mr. Stark? The one I have is fine, really, it's not much but it works." Peter? 'Wait..' I thought to myself, 'why am I hiding, I shouldn't be, I'll just walk in and pretend he isn't there.' I started to walk in, flipping my hair a little bit.
"Yes please it ph- oh hey Ivy," Tony said hi to me as I walked in.
"Can I chill over here?" I asked, picking up one of Tony's books laying around.
"Sure, knock yourself out kid, anyways-"
Peter interrupted Tony, "Ivy? Oh my god Ivy can we talk please-"
I yawned, completely ignoring his presence, "Tony, after you're done wanna go get something to eat? I went training with Cap' so I'm kind of hungry."
"Sounds good," Tony nodded, I was glad he didn't talk about me ignoring Peter though, maybe he thought about what I was saying, "how do churro waffles sound? From that one breakfast place we passed." I nodded,
"Maybe," I wasn't sure how long it'd take for them to be ready so I waited, Tony and Peter finished up there talk really quickly, Peter kept giving me glances while I just continued reading.
"Ok, thank you Mr. Stark, I should get going though, or Aunt May might get worried." Peter told Tony, shooting him a smile, he started walking toward the doors when he gave a glance at me, "I'm sorry Ivy.." he whispered, I almost didn't hear it, but I did.
I sighed, "He kept staring at me."
"Yeah, I could tell," Tony remarked, "I'm hungry wanna get going?"
"Yes pleaseeee, I'm so hungry.." we both started rushing to the car, having some fun, but when we got in the car I sighed and looked at him, "Tony, I'm sorry about reacting like that.."
"No Vi, I should be the one saying sorry.."
