An angel.... She must have been an angel, there was no mistaking it. The woman that came that day was an angel that took mommy and daddy away. She was beautiful. She was so beautiful. Her eyes were like their own galaxies, her hair was a bright blonde. She had fair skin a small body, she carried a big sword on her back... There was nothing to convince me otherwise.

She was a guardian angel. And she was there to bring mommy and daddy back to heaven. And save me from being really really hurt again.

The night she came, it was a sad day, mommy and daddy had been fighting all day long... Mommy was on her happy juice again and daddy was just always mad. I hid in my room, but I could hear their shouts through the door and I could hear things being thrown. But it's okay, mommy says that when this happens they're just playing. Maybe that was just another one of those times. After all, mommy was on her happy juice so there was no reason for her to be sad. She wanted to play and daddy was there to play with her.

The fighting went on all day and all night. At one point, I fell asleep all comfy cozy on my bed... But it didn't last long when I heard a loud shatter come from the other room. It sounded like a window was broken. Uh oh... Daddy didn't like when the house broke because he would have to work more to get money together to fix the mess.... He wasn't going to be happy for a long time.

I got out of my bed and I rubbed my eyes, it was so dark out now, I could see the happy moon through my blinds. When the moon is out I was supposed to be asleep, but I couldn't sleep again after the window broke... I had to see what happened. I stumbled out of my room, making sure to keep a teddy bear on me incase anything bad happened. "M...mommy? Daddy?" I said with a soft yawn. "Are you okay?" When I walked into the living room I could feel the cool air that drafted into the room from the broken window. Uh oh.... They really really broke the window.... But where are they?

I looked around but the moonlight only offered just enough light to outline some of the furniture. I got confused because usually they would be out there when something like this happened. I took a couple of steps forward but then the light was turned on, I turned around and found myself looking up at my daddy. His face was red and puffed out. He huffed angerly and took hefty steps forward.

"What did you do Nadia? Why the FucK are you awake so late." His eyes scanned over me, and scanned the room. "What the fuck did you do you little bitch" he looked at the damage of the window.

"D...daddy! I didn't do it.... I came out.... Because of a loud noise." I held the teddy bear closer to me and I took a step back and I shouted out in pain as I stepped on a sharp piece of glass. My foot instantly began to bleed.

"Serves you right for lying. You know God hates liars." He spit out at me. "He's going to punish you for breaking that window and lying about it. But first," he began as he rolled up his sleeves "I'm going to teach you a thing or two about manners."

I whimpered and tried to keep the pressure off of my foot but also at the same time I tried to back away. "P...please no.... Please." I begged but I knew when he was like this there was no getting out of it. He always seemed to be really angry with me, but I never do anything wrong...

"You begging isn't going to get you out of this, you know the rules. Now get the fuck over here before I get to three." His words were heavy, slurred, he didn't even have to begin to count for me to walk. I knew what happened when he got to three.

Suddenly, the room seemed to change... The air seemed really heavy, and I felt eyes on my back. "You are one sorry excuse of a human." The voice of a woman spoke out. My daddy seemed really confused because he looked up behind me. I felt a soft hand on my shoulder and I didn't look back.

"who the hell are you" my daddy's voice went deep. he was really really mad. "Nadia get over here. Get away from that woman" he didn't seem like he wanted to hurt me anymore. I almost took a step forward but the woman's hand held me still.

"stay child... I am here to protect you from that evil man. He's hurt you a lot, hasn't he." Her voice was calm, it was different from what I was used to. I almost felt like crying but all I did was hold my teddy bear closer to me.

"Don't talk to my daughter you stupid bitch. Get the fuck away from her you demon." He yelled loudly, I could almost feel the floor shake from under me.

"Demon?" The woman laughed. "no, I am quite the opposite. You see, I am here to judge you, and hold you accountable for your sins." The woman's hand was no longer on my back and she stepped from behind me, she took steps closer to my daddy and I could see from behind her that she had long blonde hair and something big on her back. "You see, I've been watching you for quite sometime. And you and your wife seem like quite the pair, getting drunk and fighting all while neglecting your young child." She began to shake her head and tsk at him. "It surely is a shame that a father can't take care of his daughter without aiming to always hurt her."

"You don't know shit. Now get out of my house, I have a gun, I will kill you " my daddy raised his voice more, loud enough to cause my mommy to walk into the room.

"What's.... Going on?" Her voice slurred and sounded really jumbled. I think she was still on her happy juice.

"Ah, still drunk. This makes the sentencing easier. I am here to judge you for your sins. And I will sentence you here and now." Her voice changed a little and it caused me to whimper. I didn't know what she meant but after that I paid more attention to my foot that hurt a lot.

My daddy didn't seem to like that, he yelled our in anger and he went to attack her, but then the woman pulled something shiny off of her back. "I sentence you, guilty. For child neglect, abuse, child endangerment, and a list of other things. Your punishment..." She started to laugh as soon as soon as he got close to her. "Death, by the judge angel." Suddenly the shiny thing was jabbed right into my dad, and he began to yell and get mad... But then he went silent and he wasn't moving anymore. The woman took her blade away and my daddy fell to the ground. My mommy suddenly snapped out of her happy juice and she began to yell and scream. I covered my ears becoming afraid and I looked down. I didn't hear anything else.

The next time I looked up, was when a hand was placed on my shoulder again. I looked up and I saw the woman looking down at me. She leaned down, her eyes sparkled and she had a soft smile on her face. "You are saved child. You will never be hurt again. Let me tend to your foot and I will send you off to a happy family." Her smile made me really happy. I held my teddy bear close and I nodded with a smile on my face. It didn't take her long to fix my foot and wrap it up. When it was all said and done I asked her her name.

"My name... Well you can just call me angel, I judge people and sentence them based on their sins. Your parents were bad and for that they had to be sentence to death. But you are a sweet child and so you live. I hope that I'll never have to sentence you as I've sentenced your parents. Be a good little girl."

I giggled and nodded. I would always remember the angel who watched over the children and saved them from their parents who were evil.
