Rain’s P.O.V-

“RAIN, COME HERE RIGHT NOW AND CLEAN YOUR ROOM. And for Heaven’s sake, TAKE THESE GODDAMN POSTERS DOWN!”

I paused in the process of teasing my hair and groaned. My mother had obviously just gone into my room for the first time in months. “Mom, leave me alone. It’s my room; you only go in there, like, once a year anyways.”

“Rain, don’t make me come down there!”

I frowned. “Fine. Hold on, I’ll be right up,” I said. I checked myself over in the full-body mirror. I had straightened my sapphire blue hair and teased it up a bit in the back. I wore an Asking Alexandria shirt and wristband, black skinny jeans ripped at the knees, and black Vans. I quickly lined my bright green eyes with black liner then rushed out the door before my controlling mother could force me to clean my room. I realized then that it was only 4:30 and that the concert started at 8, but I didn’t mind. Maybe I would get to see the band pulling up to the venue. I texted Alyssa and told her I’d had to leave in a rush and that I would pick her up. Feeling the concert tickets in my pocket, I hopped in my truck and backed out of the driveway.

I drove toward Lyss’ house with Hey There Mr. Brooks playing full blast. I turned into the cul-de-sac where Alyssa lived and parked in front of her house.

Lyss rushed outside as soon as I pulled up. Her blue eyes were bright with excitement and her black hair was down and loosely curled. “I can’t wait. Oh my God,” she said as she got into the passenger seat. Of course, Alyssa was wearing something provocative- “It’s a band made up of five gorgeous guys, why wouldn’t I”- and as I started driving again I looked disapprovingly at the Union Jack shorts that showed off half her ass and the low-cut black tank top that hugged her curves and plunged low in the back. She was gorgeous, and did she ever take advantage of it. I realized she was the kind of girl Danny would like.

“So, Rain, you down to be a groupie tonight?” she asked me with a wink.

I laughed scornfully as I realized that Alyssa didn’t listen to Asking Alexandria very much, but she sure did talk about their good looks. I shook my head, my eyes on the deserted road. If she just wanted a good fucking out of this night, far be it from me to stop her, but I was just there to enjoy the concert. After all, at midnight it would be my eighteenth birthday; I deserved to have fun, even if Lyss was out picking up band boys the whole time. “Seriously? Is that all you’re here for?”

“No,” she said defensively, but before I could even think about laughing, there was a loud crash on the passenger side and the truck was spinning out of control. Alyssa screamed as I slammed on the brakes, and we lurched forward. We finally came to a stop and I pushed aside the airbag to look over at my friend.

“Lyss?” I said quietly.

“I’m fine, but what the hell was that?!”

“Some bastard just t-boned us. Come on, let’s get out,” I said, stepping out of the truck.

I realized that the truck was totally wrecked on the side it had been hit. I could tell that no amount of money would be able to restore the damage done. “Fuckin’ hell,” I muttered, then really took a look around.

What I saw near me made me feel faint. It was a limousine; a shiny, black limousine, which was now missing both headlights and the front bumper, and had a massive dent in the front. What shocked me was that I recognized the people who were standing outside the limo.

The five members of Asking Alexandria had totaled my truck.
