Notes:
Happy One Year Anniversary, My ducklings!
There will be a second chapter coming out about an hour after this one so be on the lookout for that.
Hope you enjoy and sorry it took so long. :)Sometimes Merlin deeply regretted doing some things. Not all the time...just most. The recent one would be telling one Ronald Weasley about who he was. Don't get him wrong, it felt nice to have someone else besides Draco in on the secret, at least the ones that are human(he really needs more human friends), but...he doesn't even have words.
Once Weasley was able to digest the onslaught of information he had question after question, during all hours of the day and sometimes night when he was about to go to sleep. One memorable occasion led to him throwing the door open in irritation. It must have shown on his face because Ron fled and didn't ask once about anything for a day, sadly it only kept him away for those thirty hours. He figured telling Hermione would have been worse with her curious nature but he had not accounted for Ron Weasley.
"Can you make my brother Percy less of a prat?"
"Can you turn back time?"
"Can you change the weather?"
"Can you stop time? That would be so cool!"
"How old are you?"
"How come you aren't old looking?"
"Were you always so skinny?"
"How come you told Malfoy first?"
"Are you here to help Harry?"
"Does Dumbeldore know about you?"
And on and on it went. Merlin was just about ready to tear his hair out. It was the latest question that caught him by surprise, though why he wasn't quite sure.
"Can I tell Harry and 'Mione?" It was asked tentatively and with him wringing his hands together in obvious anxiety. It made Merlin trip but he was able to catch himself on one of the desks that he was clearing to the side of the room.
"What?" he asked dumbly, blinking owlishly as he spun around to face the second youngest Weasley.
"It's just - they're my best friends and I don't think I can keep something like this from them. I know they're getting suspicious..." he trails off, looking like he doesn't know how else to continue to argue his point. His shoulders slump in defeat as if he expects his answer to be no, it makes Merlin's heart-ache. He slowly approaches the lost teen as if he was a skittish horse.
"Ron, I would never make you keep anything from them. I had assumed you would tell them when you were ready," The thought had never crossed his mind that Ron would think he had to keep it within the small circle of him, Draco, and Ron.
"Why would you assume that I would tell something like that without your permission?" Ron asked, looking utterly confused about why he would think his permission mattered. It made him want to wrap the Weasley in a hug and thank the goddess for Mrs. Weasley's parenting.
"I guess I've trusted the wrong people to assume that you would tell it to the first person who would believe you," shrugging, not knowing how to explain that sometimes people decide to out him without telling him that they would. It had made him uproot his whole life on a few occasions, it had simply made him resigned that it would happen again. He trusted Draco not to tell anyone because he had kept enough secrets for his parents but he had not given Ron the same benefit of doubt and that wasn't fair to Ron.
"You can tell them, Ron. I don't mind. As long as it isn't the whole school," joking to ease the tension that had appeared in the air, surrounding them both; if it continued much longer Merlin would lose it. Ron gave a choked off laugh, pulling Merlin into a surprise hug before rushing off with a yelled: "Thank you".
