A small girl with dirty blonde hair placed her cereal bowl in the sink and walked away, but was stopped by a tall man with a cigarette sticking out of his mouth.
"Did you clean that?" He asked her and the girl stared up at him with fear in her fragile blue eyes.
Her name was Rosemary and she lives with her abusive father in Bixler Valley.
Her father, Ethan, bent down to her level and she leaned back, feeling her body begin to shake in fear.
"I said, did you clean that?" He repeated and she shook her head.
"No..." She croaked out with her lip quivering, "I have to get to school."
"So, you're gonna leave all the dirty work to me then, huh?" He asked her and Rosemary didn't know how to respond to him.
He shoved pushed his daughter and picked up the cereal bowl from the sink and Rosemary held her arms close to her body.
"You're such a disgrace," Ethan snarled at her, before he threw the bowl at her. She yelled and ducked, causing the bowl to shatter against the wall and she held her head in her hands.
"I'm sorry," she apologized in a frail voice and lifted her head up.
"You should be sorry," he remarked and kicked her side, causing her to fall down and groaned. "Your mother would still be here if it wasn't for you."
Ethan walked passed her daughter and out of the kitchen.
"Now, get to school, you piece of crap," he yelled and Rosemary groaned, stumbling to her feet. She held her side and had tears pouring down her face.
She lifted up her shirt and checked her side to see a bruise already forming. Rosemary had already lost track of the number of bruises her father caused to her.
Her arms, legs, stomach, thighs, were all covered in bruises and scars from her father. From hitting and kicking all the way to burning Rosemary with a steam iron. That's when her father's in a bad mood and insists on taking out his anger on his daughter.
