That night, Xander dressed up as a food delivery guy and Kenzie and Rosie tagged along. Xander was gonna distract the owner of Trucker Joes, while Kenzie and Rosie were gonna look for Xander's dad's car and hopefully find some evidence inside the vehicle. Rosie's father wasn't gonna be home until the next morning, so she was free to be out and not come home to a beating.
Kenzie and Rosie hid behind a stack of tires as Xander rang the doorbell. The owner answered the door and Xander greeted him with a fake accent.
"I didn't order nothing," the owner told him. "Get lost."
"Wait, wait!" Xander protested, holding the door open and the owner looked at him. "It's free! Dude, it's on the house."
"You got two seconds to tell me where you're from, before I punch you over that gate," the owner threatened him.
"Okay, so my mom's from Fresno and then we moved from Mexico-"
"The food, Bone Head." The owner cut off.
Xander smiled, chuckling. "Oh! Yeah! We're brand new, we're called 'Hungry Pete's Chicken and Meat!"
"Hungry Pete's what?" The owner repeated as Xander lifted up the food.
"Chicken and Meat, dude!"
"Chicken and Meat? Chicken is meat!" The owner protested an Xander's eyes grew in shock.
"Woah..." the owner waved his hand in front of Xander's face and he came back to reality. "Anyway's, we're celebrating our grand opening by making special deliveries to local business owners! That's you, dude!"
The owner shrugged and walked away, "alright, I like meat!"
Xander looked over at the girls and informed them of what the car looked like, before heading inside and the girls took off to find the car.
The girls found the gated off car lot and looked around for an entrance.
"We gotta climb," Rosie told Kenzie, before she climbed the fence and Kenzie freaked.
"Rosie!" She whispered yelled as the gate opened up and Rosie's eyes grow.
"Help me," Rosie whispered to her and Kenzie grabbed the gate, stopping it and Rosie hopped down. Kenzie and Rosie headed inside the car lot and searched for the vehicle.
They both switched on their flashlights and searched each of the car's license's plate for the correct car. Eventually, Rosie spotted it and motioned Kenzie over.
"Found it!" Rosie whispered and Kenzie came over as Rosie was shining her light on the license's plate labeled 'D3WITT.'
The two girls peeked inside the car and Rosie spotted a notebook inside.
