PUTTING OUT FIRE_6

The ambience of the room is nice, but she cannot sleep tight. The dawn is breaking when she decided to jump off the bed.

She is tying her hair in a bun while walking down the stairs. From the last level, she noticed the same garden she saw last night. The garden can be seen from the dining area. She went closer to admire the exquisite design. From her side vision, her attention is diverted to the box she brought last night. It is still packed which led her to think that Natsu didn't have dinner!

The image of the food inside the box made her stomach growl. She opened the container, but immediately put the lid back on after the disgusting smell.

"I guess he won't be that mad if I try to cook."

She set the utensils and searched for something to cook, except that there's only a tray of eggs in his fridge, some flour and other powder that she doesn't know how to use. She settled for the eggs.

"I mean, it's my second try with eggs. Couldn't be that hard, right? I'll just fry them."

She cracked the egg open but bits of shell fell with the white with some of it sticking in her hand. Natsu, who just woke up, saw the ruckus in his kitchen. He couldn't contain his amusement as he watches Lucy mess with an egg. He almost winced when she 'accidentally' put in too much salt.

He decided to make his presence known before Lucy could kill him with kidney stones.

"Never the quitter, huh?"

Lucy turned to him, exasperated.

"How can fried egg be this hard?!" He swear he could see tears brimming in her eyes. He shook her head, but there's a tint of smile in his lips. This is a very great morning after all despite the lack of sleep.

"Good morning to you too."

He turned off the stove and pulled out the powders Lucy saw in his fridge. He showed her the eggs, "You want fried eggs?"

Despite the embarrassment of being caught red-handed for the second time, she nodded. "Fried eggs, with semi cooked yolk. Can you do that? And oh, don't eat the food I brought last night. It's spoiled."

"Already?"

"They're take-outs from a restaurant." She put the container in the bin.

All the while, Natsu has started mixing the flour and eggs. Half ready, he left the mixture. He preheats the pan and expertly cracked the eggs, making a perfect sunny-side up.

"I thought you can't cook?"

"Not but my favorite food."

"Eggs?" she inquired.

"And pancakes," he added. Lucy perked up at the mention of pancakes.

"Pancakes! I love them too!"

Lucy stared at the container Natsu is giving her.

"You should at least try to learn how to do it." He insisted the good-smelling mixture and Lucy has no other option but to accept and give it a try.

Inquisitively, he glanced up at Natsu who is cracking another egg in the pan. The sight of Natsu in cotton pants and white top that is hugging his body like second skin, proficiently pinching salt in the egg, is making all Lucy's distress about the lack of cooking skills vanish. She wouldn't mind having this scene every morning!

"I said you should mix Lucy."

She snapped out of her reverie and diverted her attention to the container.
