After begging Jungkook's forgiveness in the form of waffles the next morning, you finally have your handler back on your side. He sympathizes with you about the whole situation, even going so far as to insist the Agency should let you change partners.
"No," you say with a roll of your eyes. "That's exactly what he wants."
Jungkook pauses, waffle hanging out of his mouth. "He 'ants 'oo –"
"Swallow, JK."
He swallows. "Seokjin wants you to ask him to be reassigned?"
"Obviously! That way, he wins. We won't be partners anymore, and I'll be the immature one who couldn't work with her ex. Seokjin continues to do no wrong."
Jungkook looks unconvinced. "I still don't like it. The Agency is basically blackmailing you into working with him. They could've at least let you pick your partner."
"I don't like it either, but what can I do? Maybe after all this, my name will be so well-known that this won't be an issue."
"Maybe."
He continues to seem skeptical, so you push the binder across the table. As you fill Jungkook in on the details, his uncertainty only grows.
"Her name is Katie?" His nose wrinkles. "What kind of supervillain name is that?"
"It's not one. She's young," you say, pointing to a photo. "Hasn't even picked out a name yet."
Slowly, he flips the page. While you watch, Jungkook examines every detail and when he gets to the gas station, he lets out a low whistle.
"Wow," Jungkook says. "This chick has some power."
"I know. Which is why we need to find her and stop her before she hurts anyone else."
Jungkook nods, although he continues to look troubled.
"What is it?" you say, tilting your head. "I know that look. That's your there's something fishy about this look."
"The cells at headquarters are reinforced with titanium. How in the hell did a teenage supervillain escape?"
A chill crosses your spine. Jungkook is correct – all Agency cells are built with titanium ore. It debilitates their powers, rendering most villains helpless.
"I don't know," you admit. "Our briefing agent didn't seem to want to go into detail."
"Obviously not," Jungkook scoffs. "Can you imagine how embarrassing that would be? Not to mention, her escape might become a blueprint for other supervillains – okay, yeah. I'm beginning to see why they want this kept quiet."
"Satisfied?"
Before he can respond, your cell phone starts to ring. The first notes of Zero to Hero blast through your speakers, making you jump. The Hercules ringtone is a legacy from Seokjin, who picked it out because he thought it was funny.
Wincing, Jungkook covers both ears. "You really need to change that!" he yells as you answer.
"Hello?" you say, bringing the phone to your ear.
"Y/N?"
"Oh." Immediately, your expression drops. "Seokjin."
"Who was that yelling?"
"Just some crazy person," you say, waving aside Jungkook's protests. "Why are you calling me? Did a photo op fall through and you need me to play the distressed single mother you saved?"
"As if I would miss a photo op. The Agency just sent Yoongi a bunch of new information. Thought you might want to go through it together."
"Oh." Frowning, you straighten. "The Agency sent Yoongi more info?"
