Hmm..Jeune is here early like always..perfect.
I call her over to speak with me, she looks nervous.
I wonder if she thinks it's something bad.
I quickly hand her a container of thyme, and make a pun about how she always gets to work ahead of time.

She laughs, which means I have succeeded in my goal.
Honestly, I am so glad she actually likes puns, because if no one here did, I'd probably be such a sad manager.

She is soon back to being serious, and mentions the work she needs to do.
Is it so bad that I really don't want her to?
I kinda wanted to pun with her just a bit more..
I get that I can't keep her from work though.

She tries really hard to finish everything on time, and focus on her work.
I know it's hard for her, she isn't always able to finish everything on time.
Focusing on work is even harder for her, but she tries so desperately to.

As fun as punning with her is, I can't in good conscience keep her from work.
So I let her go for now.

Sometime after that, Shen asks me about the time of the party today.
I give him the details, and Clay just so happens to overhear.
Clay pops over and asks if I've invited Jeune, I haven't yet.
But honestly I'm not sure if she'd even want to go.

It's not like she wouldn't know anyone there aside from me.
Most of the people I'm inviting are from the workplace.
She's on what I assume is friendly terms with them.

I'm still not too sure what she'd think about the nerf war aspect of it.
She might think it's immature and childish..
But I mean Clay is super professional, for the most part that is, and he enjoys it.
Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

On her lunch break, she isn't working.
Perfect opportunity to chat, throw a couple puns her way, and maybe invite her to that party..

She's drinking tea, I noticed pretty quick after I met her that she really likes tea.
I've bought her an iced tea several times as peace offerings.
She seemed to get really happy and upbeat whenever I did that.
I'll have to get her another one sometime soon.

I like it when she's happy.

I approach her smiling dorkily, I can admit I am a bit of a dork.
I shoot a glorious tea pun her way, and her reaction is priceless.
Unfortunately I get a splash of mouth tea to the face.
That and my nice white shirt is pretty much ruined.

After the initial reaction she breaks into a fit of coughs and giggles.
Her face gets really red and has heated up to the point that she has tears streaming down her face.

After she manages to stop choking, she makes eye contact with me.
She then quickly spouts the greatest apology ever.

"I'm so sorry, It was funny, please don't fire me."

I laugh hysterically. That might've just been the greatest thing I've ever seen.
She seems shooketh at my reaction, did she genuinely think I'd fire her over that sort of thing?

She's known me for four years, she should know me better than that.
She questions if she's off the hook, now normally I'd say yes, buuuut..
This is an opportunity I can use to get her to come to party.
I know it's not exactly the most respectable way of doing so..
Does that matter?

No, apparently not.

I soon make it known to her my excuse for why she has to attend the party.
The guys probably made a bet on whether I'd ask her and if she'd say no, but I technically didn't ask and she's going, so there will be a lot of losers of said bets.

That'll be fun to see.

I know she has a college class after work so I planned for my party to start an hour after her class ends, I didn't tell her that was the reason for the scheduling of course, but I did tell her when it starts and where it's located.
