Ah the early morning, wonderful really.
Few people, cool temperatures, secretly spiked coffee, that and of course the money circling around the bets on whether or not Damien is going to invite Jeune to the party today and of course whether she is actually going to go.

Speaking of the duo, they seem to be a tad bit chatty this morning.
Damien must have planned a pun for her own personal morning entertainment.
I still don't quite understand why exactly he of all people got the position, but I suppose it can be pretty much chalked down to the simple fact that no one else wanted it at the time the position was still available.

It seems their conversation has ended, by Jeune of course.
At least one of them takes their job seriously.
Pretty sure he's staring at Jeune longingly again.
He does that rather often.

I bet he still hasn't asked her to come to the party yet.

Welp time to get myself some of that spiked coffee.
Wonder how long it will take before someone realizes it's spiked.
Lucky for the office, Jeune doesn't like coffee.
I swear that women can taste the alcohol in anything.

I tried a couple experiments awhile back with various drink mixes just to try and see if I could get her to not be able to taste it, but not a single one worked.
She's like a f*cking bloodhound, but with taste instead of scent.
At this point I've pretty much given up on ever seeing her drunk.

Sometime after that good coffee, I spot Shen approaching the manager, probably to ask about something non work related.
If it's work related usually they consult Cheryl or me.
I walk over to where I'm in earshot, because it's obviously not a private conversation or else they wouldn't be talking where they are.

I overhear Shen ask Damien about the time of the party today.
Damien of course gives him the details, and I figure this is as good a time as any to pop in and ask if he's invited Jeune yet.
And he hasn't, which means I'm probably getting some heavy cash later.
But nothing's set in stone quite yet.

I chat with him about some work related things, including a rather incident prone intern that I desperately wish he would get rid of.
He ignores my plea as usual.

After that I get to work on my specific job responsibilities.
But that stupid intern keeps causing me problems.
It's funny how Damien's job is to fire people, and yet he won't.
No actually, it's infuriating, that's the right term.

Speak of the d*vil, I spot him approaching Jeune on her lunch break.
Figures he'd take any opportunity to talk to her when they both aren't working.
He might even invite her to the party..pretty sure he won't though.
He's more likely to pretend it's a work requirement for her to go then to just ask.

I would snoop, but this gawd awful intern is a f*cking disaster waiting to happen.
So as much as I'd love to make sure I'm getting a lot of cash tonight, via listening in on their conversation, I'm rather occupied at the moment making sure the intern doesn't 'accidentally' ruin anymore of my sh*t.

A short while later, i spot Shen walking towards me, wonder what he wants.
He approaches with a quick greeting before getting to the fruit of why he's here.
Apparently Damien didn't bring an extra work shirt today, and the one he has on
Is pretty much ruined.

Of course they'd come to me about this, considering I'm the only one who brings several extra professional shirts to work, as I've lost count of how many of my work shirts that safety hazard of an intern has ruined.
I sigh, and grab my car keys off my desk.

"Babysit the intern for me will ya, I'll be back shortly."

He nods in agreement, which is followed up with a Thankyou.
I head outside over to my car, unlock it, pop open the trunk, pull out a white collared shirt, close the trunk, lock the car, then head back inside.
I quickly find Shen, hand him the shirt, and take back over.
Back to dealing with the intern.

Eventually Jeune leaves, bidding us all farewell before she goes.
Conveniently the intern usually leaves around an hour before she does.
Today is no exception.

Just as she is out the door, I immediately take the opportunity to pop over and ask Damian again if he asked her, and he said she's going to the party.
Well shoot, did he ask her or not?
I've got money riding on this.

I ask if he used his 'manager's authority' to force her to go.
Apparently he pretty much did, ha I thought so.
He asks how I guessed that he'd do that.
It's because I know him best.

I probably know more about him than he does.

After work ends, I head home to grab a few alcoholic beverages.
Damien doesn't usually have those kinds of drinks at his party's so the guests usually have to bring them.

Later at his house, pretty much everyone that was invited shows up.
lucky for me, the intern wasn't invited.
I have a chat with Shen, and mention that Jeune hasn't shown up just yet, and how Damien is getting pretty bent outta shape about it.

Surprisingly he pulls out a bottle of red wine and suggests drinks to distract him.
Not something I'd quite expect Shen to come up with but it's definitely my style.
My brother would probably scold him for suggesting it if he were here.
Ah, but he isn't here, so he can't.

Several people including me brought various drinks with them, so pretty much everyone was on board with the idea of drinks after sharing it with them.
So we rope Damien into having probably more than a few drinks, and everyone else joins in as well, then the doorbell rings, and Damien answers the door.
Ah, it's her.

She looks very awkward and uncomfortable and attempts to retreat into her turtleneck, an unsuccessful attempt at that.
It's plainly obvious by her ensemble that she clearly was not informed that this is a casual dress party, It's pretty clear she tried to wear something somewhere in the middle of casual and professional.

Shen and I go over to greet Jeune, as that is customary.
Damien is a lot happier now that she's here.
He does however relentlessly tease her for being late.

A few people come over and demand bet cash from me.
Ha, they think they won since she showed up.
I kindly inform them that I was right, and Jeune wasn't asked to come to the party, she was told to.

They go over and ask Damien for confirmation, and very soon I feel the wonderful contact of multiple bills, of the money kind, in my hand.
I thank them for the good sportsmanship and pocket the money.

Eventually everyone starts wanting to start the nerf wars.
That includes me, professionals can enjoy a nerf war too.

At some point the collective decision is brought to the attention of Damien.
He is cool with it, and we go to pick out our weapons of choice and head outside and chat while we wait for him.

Eventually Damien comes outside with Jeune right behind him.
Her weapon of choice is a small pistol and a sword.

Historical figures of the past were usually seen as more powerful the less over compensating the weapons and protection were, so maybe it's an intimidation tactic, Or maybe she really doesn't have anything to compensate for.

Ah, that's a thought.

Damien explains the rules of the first nerfwar game, mostly for Jeune who has never played, but also as a refresher for anyone who forgot.
He hands out the cards determining whether you're a killer or an innocent.
I'm a killer, cool.

Once the game starts, Jeune very quickly starts killing people.
I wonder for a second if she is a killer till Damien, who was the first person shot and shot by her, announces that he was one of the killers.
Well sh*t, she really doesn't have anything to compensate for.

Various people approached her with alliances, and she accepted only to shoot them and use their ammo, a tactic I can respect.
She pretty much demolished everyone, and she isn't even the killer.
All that was left was her and me, and apparently she's a better shot.

Ah well, she won, there's no arguing with that.

After a while, Jeune starts using the sword more than the pistol.
We got to witness an unknown side of her that was, how do I put this, just as terrifying as it was rather thrillingly sexy.

Though eventually they forbid her use of the sword.
