Bram's P.O.V.

Today is the start of Axel's baseball tournament and he is driving up with his friends, so I get to be free of him for awhile. The only downside is that I have to get up extra early.
Right now it is almost seven in the morning and Axel has his first baseball game at 12 o'clock, so we will be there just in time for his first game.
I decided to bring some extra snacks for myself and since I knew that Axel will probably steal them, I will bring some for him too.
I put lots of mini bags of Goldfish crackers and pretzels into my backpack along with some water.

Will and mom were packing up Will's truck, so I decided to take my chances and I took Axel's big water thermos out of the cupboard. I washed it out and I mixed the energy drinks with Gatorade, pouring half of the Gatorade into the thermos and kept the other half. I poured half of each energy drink can into the thermos and the other half into the Gatorade bottles.
I threw all of the energy drink cans in the recycle and then put the Gatorade bottles and thermos in my backpack.
I stuffed my headphones in my backpack and then went to the washroom upstairs.
I made sure to double check my room to make sure that I didn't miss anything that I would need for the weekend.

Since I had packed everything I needed, I walked out of my room and closed my door.
When I looked at Axel's room, the door was open.
Not shut or locked, wide open.
He must have been in a rush this morning to get out.
I went inside and saw Axel's sunglasses, a gum container and his bat laying on his unmade bed.
Damn, he forgot his bat. What an idiot.
I know he has a couple bats, but I heard him brag about the bat to his friends about how awesome it is.

I opened the container of gum since I wanted a piece, only to find that Axel had taped the pieces of gum to the lid so they were the only things you could see, but there were no other pieces of gum in it.
Instead of the gum in the container, there was Axel's vape and two small bottles of vape juice, as well as some weed in a ziplock bag.
He forgot his secret stash.
I put it into my bag, along with his sunglasses and then I grabbed the bat.
I put my shoes on and then went outside.

My mom and Will were already out there and we drove off after Will locked the house.
"So are you excited for the weekend, Bram?" Will asked.
"Yeah." I answered.
"That's good, so am I. This other hotel has a park right next to it. Maybe you and Ax could play catch or something." Will replied.
"Maybe." I said.

"But you don't have a baseball glove, Brammy." Mom commented.
"We can fix that. I'll get him one between Axel's games." Will said.
"Okay. That sounds great. Right Brammy?" Mom smiled.
I nodded in response and then fell asleep.

After an hour nap, I woke up to people talking.
"Yes, we've already left. Did you forget something?" Will said.
"Are you serious? You forgot your bat?! How could you be so irresponsible?" Will sighed.
I opened my eyes and I saw him talking on the phone while we were backed up in traffic.
"Okay, I guess you'll have to borrow one of the coach's bats." Will replied and hung up.

I fell back asleep and was woken up by the truck door slamming shut.
"Bram, we're here. Give Will your bag and he will run it into the hotel." Mom told me.
I gave Will my bag of clothes, but not my backpack with all of the Gatorade and snacks in it.

Will went into the hotel and came back five minutes later.
He got back in the car and drove to the baseball diamonds.
Once we got there, we parked in the parking lot and got the lawn chair, blanket and cooler out of the truck.
I got Axel's sunglasses out of my bag and I told mom "I'm going to the bathroom before the game starts."
She nodded and and I also got one Gatorade out of my bag.
I waited for her and Will to walk far enough away, and I saw Axel's team doing warm ups.
They looked like they were just finishing their warm ups, so I grabbed Axel's bat out of the truck and I put his sunglasses on to piss him off.
