"Okay Arya, you cannot wear that to the werewolf bar!" Katie squeals, laughing ridiculously at my plaid long sleeve shirt and jean short combo. "You aren't going farming."
We were currently parading different outfits for each other in the middle of our dinky one-bedroom apartment we shared at the University. Katie got up and went through her closet like a tornado, ready to discard clothes on the whim.
"Here, this will flatter your figure much better." Katie said, tossing me a rather skimpy black dress. She parked it on my bed, sipping a white claw on her way down.
"Is this really necessary?" I wonder aloud, "We aren't even allowed on werewolf territory as university students. If we get found, we could get in big trouble."
"Oh please," Katie retorts before chugging the rest of the claw and polishing up her lip gloss in the mirror. "Like anyone outside of us are going out there."
"Exactly my point, Katie." I start, taking off my clothes and jumping into the dress. It was rather skin tight and left relatively nothing to the imagination. "It could be entirely dangerous and we don't have any garunteed safety out there."
"We don't have any garunteed safety out there, Katie. I'm scared! " She mimics, making my voice sound like a gremlin. "Don't be such a wimp, Arya. We are going to have such a fun time with Jamie and her friends!"
"First of all, you're a bitch." I respond, giving her a glare in the mirror as I try to touch up my eyeliner. "Second of all, do not scold me for having instincts that have kept me alive thus far."
"Noted," Katie smiles, putting her hands on my shoulders and shaking me, making me mess up a wing. I gave a low growl, but she ignored me squealing, "Just imagine the MEN!"
"I'm imagining something more violent right now," I grumble as I try desperately to fix the jagged line with a q-tip and some baby oil on Katie's vanity.
"Do you think they have big dicks like Jamie always brags about?" Katie muses, getting this far away look as she wildly smiles.
"I thought we were just going there to have fun with the girls, Katie." I look back to her, eyeing her. "If this is something else at least give me a heads up so I do not go and waste my time."
"You act like getting bagged by a werewolf isn't fun," She defends, hitting my shoulder in fake annoyance. "But you know I wouldn't do that to you. That is a very Jaime thing to do, and fortunately for you, you have a Katie with a claw." she says, picking up a new claw and framing it with her other hand.
"Wow what a pleasure."
"You love me," She hovers behind me and zips up the dress. "Turn around, let me put on the finishing touches."
"Alright," I smile, "So how are we getting out to buttfuck nowhere?"
She rolls her eyes, "Uber, obviously."
---------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it turned out that Uber did not actually take us out to buttfuck nowhere. Instead, we got an Uber to Jaime's place. Then she arranged some musty taxi limo to pick us up, turns out Uber stopped service to that area after 4pm.
The seats were leather, but you could tell they had a long life. They sagged in the middle, making me sink closer to Jaime's friends Rebekah and Trisha. They smelled like Bath and Body Works perfumes if they all had a baby, and I had asthma. Otherwise, they seemed nice enough. Maybe a little too eager to meet werewolves, but they complimented my make up so I didn't have anything too bad to say about them. In fact, Trisha and I were hitting it off after realizing we were in the same Economics lecture at University. We had shared views that our professor was a misogynist.
Trisha twisted to see out the window after our driver said we'd be there in five more minutes, her braids hitting Rebekah as she flipped her hair to the side to get a better view. "You better be right, Jaime."
We had been driving for around 20 minutes, which was sort of long for how much taxi's charged to go to werewolf territories at night.
We were going to Night Peak, one of the seven werewolf territories in the United States. After werewolves came out of hiding nearly seven years ago, the United States government freaked out. Some officials wanted them to have human rights, others said that they were reduced to rights of any domesticated animal, and some didn't want them to have rights at all. However, all sides agreed that all the found werewolves were to live on the seven territories. As far as I know on the news, the werewolves didn't mind because the seven territories were where the packs formed anyways.
Werewolves weren't allowed outside of their territories after 4pm. If they were, they were usually easy to spot apparently. Werewolves were unusually tall and domineering from the human accounts the news stations reported, usually with golden eyes. They also had red dots on their government ID's. It wasn't unusual for humans to not meet werewolves, they usually kept to themselves on the territories. If werewolves were out after 4pm, they were just fined as far as I know.
The heat was dry this time of year, making my thighs stick to the leather and making me wish that the air conditioner came out of the vents a little harder in the back of the taxi limo.
"Here." the driver said, grabbing the money from Jaime's hand. We made our way out, I found it difficult to walk out in this dress and heels so I more like crawled out.
"OOOOh!" Katie grinned at me, looking at the werewolf bar. It wasn't much, reminded me of any bar old grandparents went to. Had some cabin vibes, but the blue neon lights as trim outside sorta saved it I guess. "This is so exciting!"
Katie fretted with her blonde curls, sweeping them out of her face and readjusting her dress.
As soon as Rebekah got out, the taxi's wheels squealed and it was gone.
"Yeah, totally." I gulp, looking back at the bar. Am I the only one concerned?
Jaime started towards the door, chatting with Katie as they made their way over. I followed behind Trisha and Rebekah, silently surveying the outside of the bar. Two men in black jackets stood outside, sunglasses covering their eyes. What assholes, who wore sunglasses at night? There were a couple of people just loitering and drinking, but you couldn't really tell what they were until we walked past and they stared. Gold eyes.
Jaime and Katie were the first to enter the bar after the bouncer checked their ID's. Once it was my turn, Trisha hovered in the entryway for me. I was grateful, but she looked hesitant as the bouncer gave me the okay.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Trisha spoke up, looking at my expression. "We can leave if you want, no questions asked."
I wasn't going to say we should leave, but I did have this bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was hopefully looking excited for Katie, because I didn't want to ruin it after I already got out here. I had the time to chicken out way before this, and at this point I was just being annoying if I backed out. I knew if I wanted to go, Trisha would go and so would Katie and then Jaime would hate me and never invite us out again. I wanted to be friends with them, because Katie was so excited when I agreed and I didn't want to let her down.
Time to put on my big girl panties and channel my fiercest Amazon warrior persona.
"Nah, let's do it."
