My breath catches as I attempt to suppress my laughter. From where I sit in my tree I can see everything so clearly, including a confused Killian frantically looking around. Wendy sits quietly in the tree next to mine, holding her hands over her mouth to avoid making any sounds.

"Julie? Wendy? This isn't fun anymore!" Killian cries as he peers into the bush a few feet away from my tree.

A pang of guilt rushes to my stomach as I look over to Wendy, trying to see if she feels the same. She's shakes her head and crosses her arms over her chest. I know she hates giving in but I always feel so bad. I shrug my shoulders and slowly descend from the tree making as little noise as I possibly can.

"If you don't come out soon I'm leaving!" Killian threatens. He leans against the my tree, causing me to start laughing uncontrollably.

"Huh-" just as I am about to be discovered I fall from the tree, landing right on top of Killian.

"Julie, get off!" he laughs rolling me off him. We're both laughing so hard neither of us can stand.

Killian and I have been friends now for about five years now. Before meeting each other, even though we were young, neither of us really had friends. Soon after we grew close, Killian introduced me to Wendy. The three of us are now inseparable. We do everything together, including spending our spare time playing tricks on Killian.

I snap out of my daze when I see Wendy standing over us with her arms crossed.

"Jule, you always ruin everything." she huffs.

"Hey now lay off. It's not her fault she can't control what makes her laugh." Killian winks at me.

I begin blushing as I stand, adjusting my lavender dress. Something about that boy makes me feel... special? Happy? Beautiful? I can't place the exact word but I feel sparks when he looks at me.

"Julie? What in heavens name are you doing out here?" We all simultaneously groan as the voice of none other than my nanny's rings out.

"I- I was just..." I sigh defeated again.

"Why if your mother saw you in peasant clothing she'd have a heart attack on the spot! What were you thinking? I'll tell you what you were thinking, you weren't! Tell your... erm, friends goodbye, you need to be getting onto your music lesson."

I give nothing but a simple sad smile towards Killian and Wendy as I hang my head and trudge back to the castle. Little did I know that would be the last time in a long time I would see either of my friends.
