Before Raine was born, a demon and ghost both fought over Raine's soul, hoping they could settle this out and kill her before birth. They instead ended up possessing her body, creating her into a half mortal. This possession is the reason why she gained excellent abilities.
Her family currently lived in poverty and did not have anything to keep her alive. It was awfully hard; especially during the winter.
Soon after, she was born. She didn't seem odd or anything. Raine was a happy and lively baby- well, just as a newborn. "What do you mean adoption?! This is my child!! Not some strangers!!"
"We cannot afford to keep another person is this house; we barley have any food to put in our stomachs, and can't even fix the roof we sleep underneath! What makes you think we can take care of an infant?!" Her parents argued over this for weeks. After a hard brainstorm, they decided to put her up for adoption. Her name was Raine now until further adue.
Very luckily, a rich, happy, married couple took the child, acknowledging the fact that the wife had a disability to not produce kids. They re-named her Raine Watson Hellings and raised her into a polite and sweet child, yet she heard voices every now and then, which corrupted her personality a little.
Her new parents ran a important business that related to war equipment and weapons. So she was very much appreciated in the public by adults by this. Now, during school, which she begged her parents to let her attend, majority of kids would taunt her and push her around for having, "imaginary friends''.
Raine looked at them scared, "Y-You're getting them m-mad! Please stop!" She would beg, yet they never listened.
No one would dare go near her at times, not even the teachers. They would make a lane for her to walk through as girls snickered evily and gossiped as boys would make conspiracies on how she came back from Hell.
It may have been true. . .
