Hearing the alarm go off, she groaned, throwing her arm over the night stand to grab her phone and turn it off. Squinting her eyes, she looked at her phone, as she turned the alarm off. A frown plastered her face as she stared at her screensaver. It was a picture of her and her husband from their early courtship days. They were out with their common friends, a few days after their engagement, when one of their friends had clicked their picture making them show their rings off.

Looking at the time, 3:45 am, she decided to stay in bed, as she still had some time before the other women in the house woke up. Her thoughts drifted back to how happy they used to be back then. Actually, how happy she used to be. He was still happy with whatever he was doing. It was she who had gotten tired of the routine of their life. She had started to hate it, but she couldn't do anything about it because she knew how important it was to him. Almost as equally important as she was to him.

She felt her eyes well up and decided to brush away her thoughts as she didn't want her eyes to swell on such an important occasion. Groaning, she put her phone aside and got out of bed. She walked towards the bathroom to freshen up.She came out in a light pink churidar and moved out of their room. She looked inside the room before closing the door behind her.She went to the kitchen and saw all the ladies present there she also settled along them wishing them "karwa chauth" and started to have her sargi.

Finishing the meal, she helped her mother in law and sister in law in the kitchen in washing the dishes. Ananya noticed how her daughter in law had been quiet during the whole time the women were having their sargi, which was quite unusual for her as Riddhima was very talkative. She looked at her daughter Nikki, who shrugged her shoulders at her as a response saying she had no clue.

Ananya put away all the leftover food and put her hand on Riddhima's shoulder jerking her out of her thoughts. "Beta?" She turned Riddhima around who was washing the dishes. "What's wrong? Kuch hua hai kya? You seem upset?"

"Nahi mom...woh bas..."

"Beta are you sure? Agar kuch hua hai to bata na? Sargi bhi theek tarre se nahi ki tune!" Ananya worryingly smiled at her while cupping her chin. "You look so pale? Is something wrong?"

Riddhima smiled at her mother in law's concern and grabbed her hands that were cupping her chin, entwining them into hers, she spoke "mom I'm just fine! Why are you so tense?" She assured her in her most convincing tone.

"But Riddhima how can I not worry when you look like this? Aapne aap ko dhek to sahi? Kitni kamzor hogayi hai!-"

"Mama! Aap ko pata hai aapke liye tension lena achi baat nahi hai! Aur waise bhi aaj kal meri tabiyat thori theek nahi hai, maybe thats why I look weak!" Riddhima tried her best to come up with the best argument and explain it to her who still looked like she wasn't convinced.

"Tabiyat-matlab..." Ananya's grimace changed to a subtle smile, "Riddhima beta khush khabri hai kya?" Riddhima's heart broke seeing her mother-in-law's eyes sparkle with excitement.
