reece woke up wrapped in blake's arms. he was confused, but didn't mind the warmth. blake had taken him back to the house and put him in a fresh hoodie and sweatpants. he was frozen after being outside for so long.

reece climbed out of blake's arms and walked to the bathroom, having a long, hot shower. he thought about what had happened the previous day. he didn't know where he and blake stood anymore. friends? together? strangers? reece couldn't choose.

blake woke up to reece singing in the shower. the lyrics to hypersonic missiles came floating out of the bathroom and into their bedroom. he sat up in his bed, just listening to reece. he had always loved reece's singing. he was sad when the band idea didn't work out, but maybe they could try again sometime soon.

reece walked back into the room, feeling blake's glance as soon as he entered. a towel was wrapped around his waist loosely, hanging off his hip. blake bit his lip and looked away from the boy, directing his eyes to the floor quickly. blake climbed out of bed and had a shower after a little while, then got dress and sat next to reece.

"hey reece.. i think we should talk"
blake smiled at the blonde, waiting for his response. reece sat up in bed and looked at him, obviously confused.

"uhm what's up? have i done something?"
reece asked quietly, looking back at blake.

"no reece you haven't done anything.. i just gotta tell you something.. let me explain myself okay?"

"uhm okay"
reece nodded, pulling a blanket around himself. he couldn't help but feel nervous around blake.

"i'm sorry about what happened yesterday, and i promise you that it meant nothing. if anything it just showed me how much i love you reece bibby, and how much i need you in my life. i know i was wrong to do what i did, and i regret it so so so much. i loved going out on a date with you, and it made me realise how much i missed you over the years. i'm in love with you reece jamie bibby, and i can understand if you want to just turn away right now because i treated you terribly, but you have to know that i'm here for you if you ever need me, and that i'll always wait for you no matter what, because i love you and i need you back in my life. if that's as a boyfriend, i'd love that, if it's just as friends, i'd be fine with that too. i just need you reece."
blake admitted, looking at the blonde boy for a response. reece sat there for a minute, just processing everything that blake had just said to him.

reece had missed blake too, more than he realised. he tried to get over blake, but it never happened. brad had watched him get with a few guys, but it never went anywhere. deep down inside brad wanted to tell reece that he would never get over blake, but he bender said anything.

"why did you do the dare..?"
reece asked, looking at blake. it was the question he had been wondering for years. blake hurt him so badly when he told him.

"because i thought it would be funny.. but then i fell in love with you reece, and i wouldn't change that part for the world."

"i- i still love you blake.."
reece whispered, staring at the grey carpet on the floor. blake's face immediately lit up like a christmas tree. he had been waiting to hear those words for a very long time.
"but i want to take things slowly. i don't want to get hurt again"

"i completely understand that reece. i'm so so sorry that i put you through that"
blake smiled softly, sitting closer to the blonde boy. he wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him close, hugging him tightly.

"i missed you blakey"
reece whispered into the taller boy's chest.

"i missed you too bubs"
blake smiled, kissing the top of reece's head gently, brushing the hair away from his face.
the two boys cuddled in reece's bed for hours, blake not letting reece go anywhere. reece felt safe in blake's arms. it reminded him of when they were younger, when they had so much less to worry about.

"m hungryyy"
reece groaned, looking at blake with a pout on his face. blake shook his head slightly and laughed, playing with reece's hair.

"it's time for food soon, wanna order something?"
blake asked, grabbing his phone from the small table next to the bed.

"CHINESE"
reece shouted, grinning as blake scrolled through an app.

"okay okay.. noodles?"

"yes noodles"
