TRIGGER WARNING:PANIC ATTACK
"Ava?" A voice sounds from my bedroom door and I roll over in my bed as I choose to ignore it. "Ava!"
"What?" I say groggily.
"You have to get up for school." Caroline nags.
"Ugh...I really don't want to." I groan as I turn back over trying to get comfortable.
I don't want to see Stiles, or any of my friends for that matter. I need a break, a day off, a breather. I need anything but to go to school.
"Ava," Care warns and I open an eye to see her standing by my door with her arms folded.
"Caroline," I mimic in the same tone which prompts her to storm over and rip my covers off of me, "Caroline!"
"School, now," She demands and I don't move as I pretend to be asleep. "Ava, you're trying to live a normal life and that means going to school."
I scoff, "Yeah, the chances of me living a 'normal life' are pretty low at the moment." I reach over and grab my covers before snuggling myself up in them.
"What does that mean?" She questions like I've just accused her of murder.
I perch myself up with my elbow and I struggle to keep my eyes open as I stare at Caroline. "It means there's supernaturals here in Beacon Hills too."
Care's eyebrows shoot up and her eyes widen, "And you're only telling me now?!"
"It's not that big of a deal. Plus you and the others already have your hands filled with everything going on back home, like, oh I don't know, Silas being in town?" I throw my free arm up in the air, "Thanks for telling me, by the way."
Caroline sighs and walks over to the foot of my bed. She nudges my feet over so she can sit down.
"I guess pulling a sickie is part of living a normal life," Caroline says in a feathery tone as she gives in and flashes me a little smile, "Maybe we could even have a girls' day out, I know I need one."
I grin, victorious, and nod eagerly, "That sounds perfect right now."
—Time Skip—
Caroline and I find a cute little diner on the edge of the town and decide to get lunch there. I order a cheeseburger while Care ordered a milkshake, she already ate if you know what I mean.
My phone dings and I pick it up off the table to read the notification. It's a text from an unknown number that says,
'Hey, Ava. It's Stiles. My phone broke last night and I'm really, really sorry about leaving you alone. I saw you're not in class today and I hope you're doing okay.'
I sigh and sit my phone back on the table face down. I look back to Care who has her eyebrows raised.
"Who's got you all bothered?"
I shrug, "No one." Caroline eyes up my phone before quickly snatching it. "No!"
Damn vampire speed.
