Burning
Bri's POV:
Kaykrae had asked us to come to the campfire once nightfall came. I left my cabin and walked over to the campfire seeing everyone already there. Some looked over at me and I took my spot, waiting for Kaykrae to speak. "So as you already know, we have some unexpected visitors that are here." She said, the rest of us nodding along with what she said. "I think we all are skeptical of them, but most importantly of the mortal who wears the red jacket. The one who has the same name as the once friend, now enemy, who disappeared 5 years ago."
I lowered my head at this. He was my brother and yet he betrayed us, just for power. He put power over his own family, over his loved ones.
"I want you to keep an eye on these visitors more specifically the one I just spoke of." I lifted my head again and nodded along with the others.
Bryan's POV:
So they're suspicious of me? This isn't good, I'll need to watch my back then. I used a teleportation spell to teleport myself back to the cabin me and Cory were staying in and was greeted by Cory. "Your majesty." He said, bowing to me. I sat down on my bed and he did the same. "They're going to be keeping a close eye on us, mainly me," I said, as he nodded along with what I told him. I'm going to set a decoy and look around more the night before we leave. Until then, lay low and don't let them find out." I said, turning around to get into bed.
*The next day*
Molten's POV:
Before everyone else woke up I decided to go and look around the area. After all, I've never been here and something is off about those "demi-gods or gods" whatever they are. They seem to have a bad opinion on Bryan.
I opened the door to the cabin and climbed on top of the cabin before scanning the area. I didn't want anyone to see me leave. Once I was sure no one was there I jumped down and started heading over into the forest nearby. I walked around a bit before hearing the sound of metal underneath me. I was a bit confused when I looked down and saw grass, What in the? I reached down to touch the patch of ground and noticed it was harder than the rest of the ground that I had stepped on to get here. I felt for the corner of the ground I was stepping on and eventually found it before digging my fingers thought the grass and tearing it off. Once I was done, there was metal in that area. What is this? It didn't take me long to notice the keyhole in the metal. So it's a door? I thought, before putting my hand on the door. Which was a mistake as I pulled my hand back immediately, looking at my hand to see the damage.
S**t! It was melting, the surface of my hand was melting! I immediately ran over to the lake literally five feet away from me and slammed my hand into the water. What the h*ll is that thing!?
Cory's POV:
I woke up and saw that his majesty was still asleep. Letting him sleep I got up and sat on the edge of my bed looking out the window. I was just admiring the sky and the trees in the distance when I saw a certain animatronic on top of the cabin next door. He looked around a bit before going into the forest, as I followed him from behind.
I knew the tricks on how to properly follow someone. I'm head of his majesty's guard and trained to fight in several different conditions. I didn't need to keep sight of him, however, I would like to. I followed him as he approached a clearing before stopping. Once he stopped I ducked and hid behind a rock, looking up I could see him inspecting something, yet I wasn't sure what. After a while, he kneeled down and started to feel the ground. That's when I immediately thought, there must be a trapdoor there. He felt it more before tearing the patch of grass off, to reveal the trapdoor. However, once I saw the door I immediately recognized it. That means that we'll have access to the army! I thought, before watching him burn his hand on the door, all thanks to the protection spell his majesty cast on it.
He ran over to the lake and slammed his hand into the water. As he did this, I knew this was my chance. I put the grass back on top of the trapdoor and put a rock on top of it. I concentrated, then raised my head to see if Molten was done being overdramatic.
He stood and turned around obviously confused about how the trapdoor had magically disappeared and was instead replaced by something else. I chuckled to myself and turned back to head to the cabin. Which it was rather easy not getting noticed as I walked back. After all...
I have magic on my side.
