My foot tapped a rhythmic pattern in time with the clock that counted the limited seconds left of university for the year. My teacher, Mr Knocks was normally interesting but this lesson, all his words seemed to blend into one another and my concentration was out the window. I had a clear view of Brooks’ bike, parked across two spots but he didn’t seem to care. After this lesson we would be free for three whole months. I planned to get a casual job but every time I brought it up with Brooks, he seemed to change the subject, the reason for this was a mystery to me. Against all odds we managed to remain dating. I remember when people said that we wouldn’t last two weeks, let alone two years. I remember the threats from Mikaela and Colt which all seemed irrelevant now.
“Alright, alright. You may go. Have a nice Christmas.” Mr Knocks dismissed once the class became rowdy. Gathering up my things, I slung my satchel across my body and headed straight out the door. The excitement in my stomach was rising as I hadn’t properly hung out with Brooks for almost a month. We did take the time to see each other, but a coffee here and a movie there that we squeezed in between studying created anxiety but now we were stress free.
“Hey Alex, wait up.” I swung around at the call of my name. I could see Seth weaving through groups of people, trying to catch up with me. Seth was in my media class as well as a member of the Harry Potter club we have. “Hey Seth, how’s it going?” I asked once he caught up to me. He smiled, “Yeah pretty good. Hey listen, I was wondering if you wanted to stop by the coffee shop later. I mean if you’re not busy.” Regret sank in. “I’m sorry. I’m hanging out with Luke tonight.” He glanced over to where Brooks was standing, waiting for me. His jet black outfit screamed danger, his hands slid into the pockets of his skinny jeans, his sunnies masking the bedroom look in his eyes. And to think, he was all mine. “Oh yeah,” Seth gulped, “I get it."
Seth was one of my good friends. He transferred late to my class so I didn’t know him all that well but we shared a range of things in common so I knew he would be one to keep around. Seth's head dropped, his fingers slid into his pockets and he stature collapsed into itself, slowly closing himself off. "Maybe some other time?" I offered, in hopes of not disheartening him. His head raised and he nodded, "Yeah some other time."
Once we agreed, I picked up my pace and ventured to greet the bad boy. "Hey cutie," I cooed. My hands found themselves at his hips and soon his attention left his phone as he gazed upon me. "Hey beautiful." He smirked as his fingers ran up and down my back. Instinctively, I shivered with pleasure.
"What's the plan for today? Maybe something like this?" I asked in a low voice. Pushing myself up, I placed a small sweet kiss on his jaw which made his eyes roll back. He loved when I did that. "Slow down love, we've got to be careful." He leaned down to whisper in my ear, "You know, just in case my girlfriend sees." I bit back a chuckle. Flirtatiously, I slid a hand beneath his shirt and my fingers skimmed over the familiar muscles. "You're right. You don't want her to catch me doing this." I played along with his humor.
Feeling the inner desire to tease him, I couldn't help it. Reaching up, I brushed my thumb over the small silver ring. Brooks' pec muscle tensed in surprise. Knowing I had him completely wrapped around my finger at this point, I ran my finger around it slowly before increasing the pace. I could feel Brooks' chest rising and falling rapidly against my chest.
Brooks placed a hand on my forearm, making me cautious of my surroundings. "I knew it was a bad idea getting that nipple piercing." Brooks said in a low voice, as we collected ourselves and walked out of the university doors.
A month ago I managed to convince Brooks to get a nipple piercing. We were at the beach that morning and a man strode past us with this striking piercing and I, like a bird, found it as the most beautiful shining distraction I had ever seen. After some unspoken kissing, and pouting on my behalf, I dragged him to the parlour and he got it done just for me. It was our little secret.
