Casey: "NOW!"Damian knew he shouldn't, but the urge, the rush, the sorrow...it all was building. All he needed was to hear that word, but he was dreading it in a way! It is that moment before you do something stupid, when you know its wrong, when you know you can't change it afterwards, but yet you are still tempted to do it!
As Damian stood there, debating wether or not he was going to do it, Casey texted him again: "I SAID NOW, DAMNIT! NOW!! "
Damian's dread and regret was building, he was almost at his breaking point. He didn't know how much longer he would last, but all he knew was that he was depressed, and the peer pressure was all it would take!
Damian took one step closer, and he remembered all the happy times in his life, before he was depressed. He remembered seeing his baby sister's bright smile for the first time, holding her in his arms and rocking her to sleep on those sleepless nights so Mom and Dad didn't have to do it. He remembered when they got their dog Max, how that dog was attached to him, he remembered the sweetness in the dogs touch, the way it loved to lick him in the face...but none of that mattered anymore. One more step he took, one step closer...
Still, he remembered. He remembered all the times that grandma would bring over fresh scented clothes after they hung from the Sycamore tree that smelled like the wind on summer days, he remembered the lemonade stands that he had built on the side of the road and thrill of the hard-earned money. But still, he moved closer.
Another text from Casey, "What do I have To Do To Make You Do It!!!??? JUST DO IT ALREADY!!!!!! "
Closer, and closer he drew, until he couldn't take it anymore. He jumped, diving through the air, seeing life flash before his eyes. His sister, mom, dad, how would they survive? No turning back now, the water was drawing closer, and closer still! Now he screamed!! "How could I have been so stupid? So careless? "
