I was humming to the song on the radio when I felt something was off on my driving. I checked the gas and engine lights but neither were on or flashing. I cocked my head slightly and ignored the new feeling. I could feel the car beginning to slow before it stopped all together. I was lucky enough to be the only one on the road so I got out.

I shivered as the cool air hit my face. I pulled out my phone and text Mitch what had happened. After doing that I looked back to the car. I was maybe thirty minutes away from his house by walking, it was to cold to though.

I pulled my jacket up higher on my neck to protect me from the cold. I opened the driver-side door and pulled the stick so it would be off of parking. As I did this, it began to roll forward slightly due to being on top of a small hill. I pulled against the steering wheel and steered it to get it off the main street. I could feel the wind whip across my face as it made me shiver.

After getting it off the road I placed it in park again. I pulled out my phone again and decided to call him.

I pulled up his contact and pressed the green phone key. I held the cool material up to my frozen ear and listened to the humming before it turned to rings. After eight rings the phone went to voicemail. I decided to not leave him a voice message and just text him again.

I was about to text him when I saw red and blue sirens blare. I winced at the sudden noise but looked over to see an officer coming my way. I smiled at him thinking he was going by. Naw, he just pulled in front of my car.

"Sir, you know this is a no loitering zone." The cop said after difficulty getting out of the white car.

"Why, officer, I do know this b-" I was cut off by him raising a hand.

"Then why has your car been parked here and you seem to be using your phone for social media?" He questioned strictly.

"Officer, I was texting my fri-" I was cut off once more.

"To tell them to come here? Sir, I will have to have your car towed." He said righting on a thin piece of paper.

"Sir, I mean, Officer, I was just texting my friend to come and pick me and my car up. My car has broken down." I tried to explain but the cop was already sitting in his car with his portable radio in hand.

I unlocked my phone and quickly texted Mitch were I was and that the man had threatened to tow away my car. I waited a few minutes but there was nothing.

I looked up and never noticed my car being pulled up by a heavy chain. I gulped and just began walking in the way that lead to Mitch's house. I grabbed the ticket from the officer and stuffed it into my pocket. I pulled out my phone and sent a final text to Bajan.

I growled and began a fast jog to the Canadians house. I could feel the cold starting to eat at my flesh. Not an oh to good feeling.

Finally getting to Mitch's house I pulled out my spare key. I thrusted it into the little key-hole and shot the door open. A little harder then normal.

He jumps off his couch in nothing but his boxers. His eyes are wide with fear and his arms are up in a defensive state.

I growl at him as he tells me he can explain. I feel my canines poke at my lower lip but I ignore it. He would not be able to see it anyway. I shake my head in irritation and scratch at my face.

"How can you explain me waiting out in the damn cold for over an hour? I had to freakin' jog here so I would not freeze to death!" I growled. I could feel the anger course through my veins.

"Look, Woof, I am sorry! I had to eat after all. That, and wake up." He adds in a lower tone, barely audible to the human senses.

"You weren't even awake when I got here." He am taken aback in disbelief. He knew I would be here early this morning. Still, he slept in.

I bring down my anger and I feel my canines retract to nothing but small barely noticable fangs. I adjust my black and blue beanie on my head and lean against the wall.

'Stupid new senses. You go to a lab to help one person and come back with a hybrid.' I think as I adjust the backpack on my shoulder.

"Lab? What?" I jump at the sudden voice of the Benja.

"Uh... nothing... going to go to sleep... plane really tuckered me out." I say pulling a fake yawn and stretching.

I run up the stairs and open the guest room door. I throw my less important bag down and gently put my useful bag away. I plup down on my bed, make sure the door is locked, and pull off my beanie and take my pants off. I sigh in relief and curl into the blanket on the bed.

'Maybe I can get some sleep.'
