Zayn’s P.O.V.

“I need to ask you something.” I started

“Okay, what is it?” Doniya and mum attentively listening.

I sucked air in and stared at the table for a while. I clenched my hand and firmly closed my eyes. I was trying to gather courage for the things I’m about to say. It’s now or never Zayn. I mentally told myself. Come on now, you need to do it for yourself. I tried to boost my morale one last time. I released the breath which I held for a while and sucked to two shallow breaths.

“You remember the time we lived in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire for a few years?” I rapidly said.

“Do you remember the boy I dated for about 6 months before we left?” I asked. My mum nodded and so did my sister

“Do you remember his name?” I continued with my questions.

“Ah, yeah, It was something like Happy or Gabby or whatever.” Doniya said, clearly forgotten

“Actually, you almost got it. His name was Harry.” I stated without looking at them. They were really confused. “What has that gotta do with us? By the way, it’s kinda ironic that he has the same name as your band ma….” My sister asked and she passed In the middle of her sentence. I closed my eyes as I waited for her reaction.

“Oh my geee! Are you saying, what I think your saying?” My sister gasped, widening her eyes in shock and laughter.

“What? What? What did he say?” My mum blinking a few times, being lost the conversation. Doniya came closer to Tricia and whispered in her ear and she dropped her jaw, “Really?”

I just looked at them and nodded. “Harry, my band mate is my ex but here’s the catch. He seems to have forgotten me.”

“How can you be sure it’s really him? I mean maybe his just another Harry?” Doniya inquired further. I asked him if he dated a guy before and he came clean. He remembers what happened but he doesn’t remember me.” I said while raising my hands in frustration.

“Isn’t it awkward working with him?” Mum asked out of curiosity.

“It is, let alone living with him.” I said.

“Why does it matter? He doesn’t remember, just let it go and forget about it. Unless there’s more you aren’t telling us?” Doniya smirked. Oh how I love my sister, she really is the sharpest pencil in the pencil case.

“I tried doing what you said. I tried to forget about it but it got worse. I thought I moved on but there was still lingering feelings and it grew through the years. Now I couldn’t stand it.” I covered my face to hide my eyes almost to burst from tears. “I can’t tell him now, I’m afraid he might get spooked and I would ruin the group for the rest of the lads.”

“Oh poor zayn, such a pure heart, whatever you decide, we will support you all the way” She said while patting my back and Doniya doing the same to calm me down.

I really missed this. The way my mum and Doniya would listen but our bonding was disturbed by a yell from Niall. “Liam you’re talking your time with those matches! Come on the marshmallows are getting cold!” Just like that Liam entered the kitchen and took the matches on the counter, giving us a shy smile. “Uhm, just getting the matches, don’t mind me.” He said and started sprinting. I looked at my sister and mum.  And then I stood up and went to join the lads.
