AADHYA

I sit in the chair and take deep breaths as I see my friends and cousins talking in the mirror. They all are smiling at me as the makeup artist puts the beautiful red dupatta on my head.

I'm getting married. Today. In less than an hour. To Rehan. To my Rehan.

I smile at the makeup artist and mouth "Thank you" to her as she fixes the dupatta. She smiles back at me and I look at myself in the mirror.

I'm a bride.

I stand up and turn to face my friends, cousins, and sister, and they all gush at me. I smile from my heart and I feel I do not look bad. Will Rehan like me?

I look at the full-length mirror and feel my heart beating faster and faster. I'm getting married.

I turn to everyone and say the same words. "I'm getting married," I laugh and they all laugh, surrounding me.

"Trust me, we want to hug you, but you look so perfect! I don't even want Rehan to hug you," Kiara tells me, blowing me a kiss.

We all laugh and talk when Sanam holds the door for me.

"Shall I?"

I nod at her and watch as she opens the door. My parents, Bhai and Bhabhi, Sam with Jiju enter the room.

My mother begins to cry seeing me and she wraps her arms around me and kisses my forehead.

"Mom! Don't make her cry! All hugs and kisses after the ceremony," She tells everyone as Mom breaks the hug.

Dad comes to me and he smiles at me and holds my face in his hands. He leans in and kisses my nose. I see him teary-eyed and he turns around before it spills out of his eyes.

"You look beautiful," Bhai tells me as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.

Jiju does the same and I kiss Adi and Sam before I'm told that it's time.

I take a heavy breath as Bhai takes the phool ka chadar along with Di, Sanam, and my other cousin Shiv.

"Ready?" Bhai asks me.

I nod as we begin to walk. We stop before the door and I know my life is about to change forever but if there is one thing I'm more sure of, it is Rehan.

Sure about everything with him. This marriage is not for my father and his anger. This marriage is for me and Rehan and the world we are going to create. Our world.

The music begins and the door opens with a loud thud. The sun shines bright and I look up to see everyone standing up. They all are in their seats and stands up when they see me while Rehan's and my immediate family are gathered on the sides.

Din Shagna Da begins and I walk forward. I don't like being the center of attention but when my eyes grab Rehan, I don't care about anything.

He is smiling as he stands up. I smile back at him and my eyes are full. With happiness. I chuckle as he winks at me.

He is the most perfect human I have seen. And also the most handsome man. From the beige sherwani to the perfect beard and the gorgeous smile, my man is perfect.

I'm reaching the steps when he walks to me and gives me his hand.

I feel a shiver run down my body when our hands make contact. He pulls me to him and we stand together at the mandap, looking into each other's eyes and smiling. Our hearts are full.

"You are beautiful," He says and I want to cry. "Can I kiss you?"

I shake my head. "Kissing before marriage is bad. Really bad," I tease him and he raises his eyebrows with a smile playing on his lips.
