Azami Izumida looked down on the scenery below him. The water seemed so calm yet terrifying at the same time. His feet dangled of the edge of the cliff, the one he was currently at. The sun glared back at him, as if it was taunting him. It was just starting to set too, casting a golden hue on his surroundings.
Azuma would have scolded him for going out into the sun without applying sunscreen, but for now? He couldn't actually care less.
Today was another one of those days where he ran away from home. Home? Mankai is his home now, yet shithead Sakyo was there. Wherever shithead Sakyo was, it is not certainly Azami's home.
Why does he have to ruin everything for Azami? People tell him everyday that the old man is just looking out for him but from Azami's point of view, it's far from it.
Here we are
At the end of the road, a road that's quietly caving in"Running away too?" someone asked. The voice was a bit distant, leading Azami to think it came fom someone beside him. Wait, beside him? Startled, he flinched and jump back, away from the voice.
Beside him was a girl around the same age as him. She had [hair color] hair that was paired with [eye color] colored eyes. She was wearing a plain black t-shirt that was paired with ripped black skinny jeans. She was wearing a light denim jacket to top it all off.
Come too far to pretend that we don't, we don't miss where we started
"W-who even are you?!" Azami asked in a surprised, yet very cautious tone.
"No one." the girl shrugged.
Looking back, I see a setting sun, and watch my shadow fade into the floor
"Don't pull that bullshit with me." Azami said as he turned away and looked back at the sun. It was about to set. Maybe he had spent too much time here.
I am left standing on the edge
Wondering how we got this farAzami stood up to leave, yet stopped in the middle of doing so. He ran away. He had nowhere to go. Ken-san was with shithead Sakyo. He can't run to Mankai for that reason, too. He can't exactly go home now to his father now, he didn't want to be lectured for another hour.
Azami sighed, maybe this stranger's company wasn't too bad after all. It's all he has at the moment. It's better than any option he has, too.
"Why are you here?" Azami asked. Might as well start a conversation, right?
"They left us alone
The Kids In The Dark
To burn out forever
Or light up a spark""What do you mean?" Azami asked as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why was she spouting nonsense?
"Let me show you then." the girl smiled as she stood up and dusted her pants.
We come together
State of the art
We'll never surrender
The kids in the dark"I'm [Name], by the way." She introduced herself as she linked her hand with Azami and dragged him with her.
"O-oi! Didn't your parents teach you that's inappropriate! Th-this things comes after m-marriage!" Azami stuttered as he was being dragged. He'd definitely put up a fight if he was not a blushing, stuttering, embarrassed mess as of the moment.
It didn't take long until [Name] stopped all of a sudden. They were at the bottom of the cliff, entering a shady passage way.
"Oi, where are you bringing me?!" Azami nagged, still very alarmed.
He can't deny that he was curios. What the worse that could happen? He can fight for himself. He should be fine, right?
"You're going to meet the rest of the kids in the dark!" [Name] said then smiled softly. There was a hint of sadness that Azami couldn't explain.
"What's this group anyway?" Azami pried for more information.
"An escape." [Name] replied.
"Escape from what?" Azami asked again. They were in front of an old looking wooden door.
"From reality." as [Name] muttered those words, an eye peeked through the hole that was carved in the door. Azami staggered backwards in shock.
Then, the door opened. Inside was a stage with different lights, a band was performing. There were so many people but the thing that caught Azami's interest was the gallons of glow in the dark paint they were throwing at each other.
"I'm leaving." Azami said with an exasperated sigh. All that for this?
"Why don't you stay for at least a minute?" [Name] asked.
Well, they walked all the way to get here. Maybe a minute wouldn't hurt? Azami reluctantly agreed.
They left us alone
The Kids In The Dark
To burn out forever
Or light up a sparkAzami heard those words again as the band sang the chorus of the song. As the chorus started, he could see [Name] from his peripheral vision.
The sounded of the drums pounded his head. It was too damn loud for his taste. The next thing he knew is that he was drenched in those glow in the dark paint.
Azami clenched his teeth as he found a water gun filled with paint. He will get back at [Name] and that's for sure.

Azami Izumida came back to the Mankai Dorms drenched in paint of all colors.
"Bon!" Sakyo said in surprise.
"He's back now, don't worry." Sakyo whispered to his phone that was currently on an ongoing call.
"Where were you?" the older man asked.
He didn't even give Azami the time to answer properly before going on a lecture that would go on for another hour.
Azami however couldn't focus on the lecture he was being given. Many things were floating around in his mind. specially those words.
They left us alone
The Kids In The Dark
To burn out forever
Or light up a sparkMaybe he's one of them. If he was, then there's only one thing to do.
He'd never let himself burn out forever just because of mild inconveniences that would come his way.
One thing's certain for him. He'd light up a spark.
