Meet Abby

    " No "Abigail Spencer replied as she was walking home from school one hot May evening with her best friend and secret crush Chase Winston who was currently walking backwards in front of her. "Please just think about it."He said pleading. Chase was asking her if she would come to his family vacation. Then he could profess his love for her on a romantic cruise to the Bahamas. Little did he know she had problems at home. Abigail had been in and out of foster homes ever since she was able to walk, and besides she might make a fool of herself not only in front of him but in front of his parents to! She had met Mr. and Mrs. Winston before ,they seemed nice but Abigail had a rough 15 years and was used to people seeming nice but not being that way. She was hoping that 16 would be a clear slate but her birthday was still a week away. Chase was crestfallen when she declined. Then she saw the look on his face she thought and said "I'll think about it." When she walked away Chase jumped up "yes!" he exclaimed. Abigail heard and glanced back smiling.

Meanwhile Rich Oxford was getting a new suit at his personal tailor "I'll have that Abigail Spencer as my girlfriend." "Sure whatever." Rich 's tailor said in a flat tone. Abigail was considered very pretty and Rich was well, rich and thought he needed the best and prettiest girl in town. Just then he had an idea. "Her birthday is next week i'll surprise her with an expensive gift then ask her out. He was sure she would fall for him just like all the other girls in town. Then Rich's parents walked in interrupting his day dreaming." Son it's time you get a girl." his father said "Your father's right dear." His mother agreed. "I've chosen the one."Rich said "Who's the lucky girl." His father boomed "Her name is Abigail Spencer." He said. "What's her age and who are her parents ." "She's 15 ,her birthday is in a week, and she lives with Charlie and Anne Tanning in town." Rich explained. "Great, when do we meet her." his dad said. "She's not mine... at least not yet she's not." He said. "Be sure she is." His father said shutting the door behind him. "I will." Rich said sternly after his father was well gone.I
