@stellacoroner03- Cute pic, yasss queen! I typed, then proceeding to dissect every inch of the picture: her shirt, her pants, her shoes, her accessories, her makeup look, her location. Everything perfect. I noticed she was wearing a new pair of thigh-high black boots and a white flower off-the-shoulder romper with them. I will order that as soon as I asked my mom. The location tag at the top said Maui, I wish I was in Maui. I'll request we go to Maui for our next vacation.
I saw her on social media, I wanted to see her, I wanted to meet her, I wanted to be her. This person was my life, she motivated me to move forward with life and pursue my dreams. I'd follow her across the earth if I could. She was my idol and I would do anything for her.
Later when my mother got home I asked her about getting those clothes, shoes and a vacation to Maui. "Hey, mom, can I get a new white romper and a new pair of thigh-high boots? Also, I want to go to Maui for our next vacation!" I asked
" Stella Coroner, how many times must I tell you? Do not ask for clothes you see on celebrities! The clothes they wear cost hundreds of thousands of dollars quite often and I can not afford to buy hundreds of thousands of dollars in clothes each year. You know when you ask that it makes my blood boil. Do not ask me again!" my mother yelled.
"But mom, it's Alexandra we're talking bout', she's the IT person. I have to be like her!"
"You said the same thing about, oh what was his name? Liam Flox?"
"Liam Fox. All I want is his merchandise and go to his concert." I pointed out.
"Exactly my point, all you want is to spend spend spend with no regard of everyone else in this house or the fact that the rest of us need clothes too!" my mother clapped back.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize that I'm not allowed to ask for clothes and ask if we can go to a certain place for a vacation!" I screamed back. Saying this was a normal argument with my mother would be a lie, sure, we argue on this often but never like this, this was a new extreme and I had to end it.
"Mom," I started
"Enough! I have had enough of your attitude and will not tolerate it any longer. This is not how you treat your mother! Give me your phone." she yelled with authority.
"But, mom."
"NO buts, hand it over," she said with finality.
"Fine, Sharon! Take it I'll be just fine without it; I'll just use my laptop anyways. You can't beat me. I am unbeatable, this has become a war mother. I will only tell you this once. I Always Win." I finished with confidence.
"Oh, is that so? We'll see what happens. Until then go to your room, you're grounded."
This was a perfectly dramatic piece that should be winning an academy award. Unfortunately, this was real life. There was no getting out of this one, so, I turned around, hung my head in shame and walked the long journey back to my room.
"And Stella, I want your laptop, I will be blocking everything having to do with social media, you will receive it right before you leave for school and return it as soon as you get home," my mom yelled after my exit.
Great, I officially have no life. Nope, not at all. With no social interaction, I was very lonely outside of school and on the weekend. At least I had my Hamilton cd and a cd player that took me three hours to figure how to use it.
" I am the A-L-E-X-A-N-D-E-R we are meant to be!" I rapped. "My Shot" is my favourite song from Hamilton.
I was just getting to first period when my best friend slide into the desk next to me.
"Dude, why did you ghost over the weekend, there was a massive party you missed because of that. It was an epic rager, one for the ages." my best friend Kylie said.
"I'm sorry Kylie, my mom took all my electronics away and even if she hadn't I was grounded anyways. It wouldn't have made any difference." I replied.
"Lame, but forgiven. Seriously though, when you going to be ungrounded and have your stuff back because the guy who hosted the party claimed he having an even bigger party next week. You gotta come."
"Yeah, whatever I'll try but no promises because my mother is ruthless."
"Good, I'll see you there."
I didn't reply because class had started. I was fine with this and I no longer wanted to discuss the matter further.
The week went on as normal. My mom eventually gave up on her ruthless hold of my electronics, finally admitting I was unbeatable. I knew she would cave in after a while. It was only a matter of time. It didn't matter though, I still had no life because half my friends were mad at me for "ghosting" them even though many knew that my phone and laptop were taken away.
On Friday it all went down... The media headlines were off the charts; "What happened to Alexandra Davis?" and "Where did it all go wrong for superstar Alexandra Davis" or headlines like "Superstar Alexandra Davis commits Suicide causing mass suicide of many fans following in her footsteps." That was it that's how I'd end have no social life is having no life at all.
That evening I returned home a bit unstable because all I could think about was my plan. I wrote down the very last of all my feeling and carried on with tears in my eyes as I took my last breaths...
If my mother hadn't walked in on me I likely would not be here now. To this day I still have never followed in the footsteps of a celebrity learning what trouble it can get one into and every day I thank my mother for being there that day.
