CHAPTER 1 ~10 YEARS LATER~

"I'm so scared. I can't do a quarter in the pin. What if they don't believe me? ,"my client, Rosa asked with watery eyes.

"Now you listen to me Rosa, suck them damn tears up. I will not lose this case. We both know you're innocent, so I'll be damn if one of my clients go to prison for something they didn't do. Put on your big girl thong cause you're walking out that door a free woman," I said only for her to hear.

"I got you," I said patting her hand as the jury came back.

"Will the defendant and plaintiff please rise." As we stand, I glance over to see Rosa biting her lip nervously.

"In the case for the murder of William Hamings, we find the defendant, Rosa Quims...............Not Guilty." Letting out a breath that I didn't even know that I was holding, I was attacked in a hug by Rosa as she cried on my shoulder.

"Thank you, you are a God sent!" she said laughing a little now

"Alright now, let the man take the cuffs off of you," I said patting her back. Not long after that, her family was hugging and kissing all over her. I left the court room with a weight lifted off my shoulders. Walking outside to the fresh air, I was interviewed by several news stations.

"Ms.Collyns, Ms. Collyns!" said a reporter waving frantically at me. "What is next on your agenda?" he asked, pointing the microphone towards me.

"Nothing, absolutely nothing," I answered shaking my head, "I'm actually flying back home to Michigan for a year;decided to just take a break."

"Oh really? This is your first vacation since the Arizona Massacre that went down a couple years ago." he said looking shock that I'm finally taking a vacation.

"Yes, yes it is and I better be leaving so I will not miss my flight," I said looking at my Michael Kors watch.

"Alright, thank you for your time, Ms. Collyns"

"Oh, no problem, love...see you when I get back," I answered ..walking towards my rental, heading to the airport.
