Chapter 6

They are nineteen. Ignore whatever age I said they were before. Okay good. Continue.

Marinette, Chloe, and Kagami's eyes go wide and they all look at each other and smile. "Now remember we only have one week until we leave so we must behave and get all our work done," Ms. Bustier replied.

Lila raised her hand. "What exactly are we going to be studying in California?"

"We are going to learn about multiple things in California. How it is different from Paris, how people act differently. A little bit every subject you learn, although maybe not math," Ms. Bustier replied.

The class all looked around to see the reactions of their fellow classmates. "However, as I had said, just a few minutes ago, we must still behave and get our work done. I am going to pass out the permission slips. Once you get it please put it in your backpack and continue to read the rest of chapter eighteen to nineteen," Ms. Bustier said.

After the whole class turned on Marinette, and then Chloe stood up for her, Marinette asked if she could move seats and Ms. Bustier put her in the back with Kagami.

Marinette and Kagami got out their tablets and set it to where they left off on chapter eighteen.

Ms. Bustier finally gave them their permission slips and they quickly read it before putting it in there backpack:

Our class has the great opportunity to go to the U.S as a senior trip. We will also be taking this trip as a learning opportunity seeing as we will be there for a month. We will find out more about their cultures and their different arts-

Marinette stopped reading it before she finished it and got in trouble. The class was, surprisingly, quiet. Chloe and Marinette were a little shocked. They had known this class for seven years, they thought they would've heard some sort of chatter.

Out of nowhere, everybody's phone dinged and all the teenagers check their notifications.

"Death?!"

"Murder?"

"Burned to death!"

The classes' reactions were all appropriate. On the screen, was a small article on a guy, who had been burned to death. The man's wife was in custody for questioning but they didn't know anything else then.

The three witches didn't think any of it. Murders happened, demons and spirits or not. "Okay guys, you can find out more about this after class, for now, please continue to do your work," Ms. Bustier replied.

The student reluctantly turned off their cell phones and continued to work. Kim, however, just hid his phone and continued to read the article. As the class went by, the students wished the bell would ring so they could read the article.

The bell rang and the students quickly put away their tablets and packed up. The moment they got out, their phones were instantly out. Marinette, Chloe, and Kagami take their time.

"Have a good rest of the day, Madame Bustier," Kagami, Marinette, and Chloe said, as they exited the room.

Chloe instantly whipped out her phone and continued to read the article. Kagami and Marinette playfully shook their heads at their sister and started to talk. "I think I want to go back to brown," Marinette said.

"Yeah, I think black hair would be better than blue hair," Kagami agreed. "You guys check this out," Phoebe interrupted.

"Leon Pichard, 27 year old male, was found dead a few hours ago. According to officials, the wife was found unconscious and smoke in both adults' lungs. His lips appeared to be burned off and the whole house was filled with smoke and fire. Authorities say that they while find the culprit and rest assure that the murder while be caught. Don't be bemused it's just the news, I'm Nadja Chamack and this is Channel 9"

"Wow, I hope the wife is okay," Marinette said. They passed the class and could hear Lila's new lie.

"Oh, I once went into a burning building to save this little girl's cat. Luckily she was on the second floor. I had to stay in the hospital for a few weeks," Lila, well, lied.

"Ugh, I hate her so much," Marinette said. "As if. She would only stay in the hospital three days max. Smoke inhalation isn't that bad unless she ether one passed out in the building or two was at the top of the floor and made it all the down," Prue said.

"What if our parents don't sign the paper? Then we can't get to the Book of Shadows," an anxious Phoebe replied. "Well we can always make up our own spells," Piper said.

"Without a spell book to even tell us what we're doing?!"

"If I recall, you were always the best at making up spells. I'm sure if we ever need one you will be there," Prue said.

"Whatever," Phoebe said.

"I mean it, Phoebe. You really are smart. More than I give you credit for," Prue said. Chloe went up to Kagami and hugged her. "You joining in, Pipes," Chloe asked. Marinette joined them.
