Chapter 10

"We can go now, they've all left, I think they've given up" Beth says standing up.

"Let's hope that" I say and pull the door open, I let the others out and we walk to the door. Beth opens the door to the stairs and we set off again. "How far do we have to go?"

"Not very... three more flights and we're out of here"

"Yes!" the others cry. Positivity and happiness. Just what we need. I feel a warmth in my heart and I smile to myself. We are going to be out of here soon. But then... what are we going to do when we get out of here? Beth said all she saw around us was lots and lots of trees. I guess we'll find out once we get there. As for now, we battle up the last few staircases.

"We're here" Beth says and opens the door. I squint, and at the very end of the corridor I see a door to the outside. All I want to do is run down the corridor, but I know I can't do that. Just with the others being a lot slower than me. "Are you ready?" Beth takes my hand.

"Yeah" I say and smile at her. I step forward, but she doesn't move. I see fear in her face. "What's wrong?"

"Oh no" I hear something bang in the distance. I look ahead, and see figures coming down the corridor. Something flies past me, and Beth falls onto me... there's something in her neck. An arrow. One misses my left ear by inches. I push Beth down the stairs and tumble down after her.

"Beth!" I yell shaking her. "Oh no" I hear voices and footsteps nearing us. Fear and panic drives over my brain. "The others" I throw Beth on my right shoulder and run up. I look down the corridor and see people coming. The others throw themselves down the stairs and I jump over them and land down. I run into the first corridor on the right. With Beth sill on my shoulder I wrench the door open and into the room. No one here. I put Beth onto the floor.

"Beth!" I yell again shaking her. "Wake up I need you!" what is that arrow in her neck? What have they done to her? And how could they do it from so far away from us? "Beth.... I need you" the door opens behind me. I turn, to see the blonde woman from my dream. I make eye contact with her and feel a vibe between us.

"What are you doing?" someone yells behind her. She is pushed into the room. It's the other woman, she pulls up a gun.

"No!" I yell. But a cold sensation enters my body, I feel numb and drowsy, and my body drops to the ground.
