Through the years and days that team 10 has worked alongside with Shikamaru, they never thought this day would come when the lazy boy all of a sudden asked something so out of character.

"Asuma sensei, please train me more in taijutsu"

??????

Shikamaru + physical combat = huuhhh??

Of course they all trained in basic fighting skills but for Shikamaru to ASK to train better at it is too weird??

"No way?! Am I hearing this right?!" Ino screeched, examining Shikamaru's head closely to see if there were any sort of injury that would cause this.

"Shikamaru, are you okay??" Choji asked worryingly.

"Troublesome, I'm fine so stop getting so close to me" Shikamaru sighed out before walking up closer to Asuma.

Asuma just looked at him with a confused stare, "Whats this all of a sudden? You usually just let your shadows and brain do your dirty work, you even said that punching and kicking is so-on-so too much work"

Then, in the background, someone was snickering.

"Fufufu could it be~? Shikamaru wants to work hard for a certain someone~?"

*BONK*

Right on target. Ino's instincts is frighteningly as good as his mothers and it's getting under his skin.

"AH! I was right wasn't I?! WHO IS THIS PERSON?!" Ino quickly bombed questions at him, shaking him back and forth in an insane speed that's making him dizzy.

Shikamaru was slowly regretting asking Asuma while his teammates were right in front them, he should've just waited till they were away or something.

"Listen, I've just been realizing that I should try to work to better my skills and so taijutsu looks like the way to go" he said, hoping that this will make Ino and everyone else stop staring at him like this.

Asuma chuckled loudly and patted his back.

"Look at you! You certainly did change in attitude a little bit! Working harder to improve yourself and such! Of course I will help you out with more physical combat"

Shikamaru let out a breath of relief. Thank god he wasn't gonna hear any questions any further because he was kind of getting embarrassed.

"Hmm but Shikamaruu~ I still believe that there is more into this, your lazy ass would NEVER.. hmm" Ino whined, raking around her brain to think of something that could cause this.

Ah!

"Wait, I remember you asking about someone name Nar-"

"And that's where you stop talking" Shikamaru immediately cut off her sentence, eyes glaring straight at her.

"I. KNEW. IT wait can I meet him?? What does he look like?? Is he our age? Is he a normal village boy?? I need to know more!!"

Ugh, not this, anything but this.

"Ino, Sai is calling for you over there" Choji interjected.

"Oh really?! Don't think I'll forget about this Shikamaru! Sai~" and with that, she left running towards the direction Choji was pointing.
