5 Years later

I sat staring at his gravestone, 5 years since he was confirmed dead.
5 years since I held him in my arms, kissed him, told him I loved him.

If only I had known back then about all the demons that he was facing in his head, I would have reassured him everyday that he is worth something, that he has a place in this world, he is appreciated.

I wiped away a final tear and laid his favourite flowers on his grave.

"I love you Ney, never forget that, you have my heart always."

The drive back to the house was silent, I needed space to clear my head.

I arrived back at home 20 minutes later to see my love and our little girl waiting for me.

"Daddy, your home" spoke Lily.

I slowly lifted her into my arms and kissed her forehead, "yes, daddy's home sweetheart."

I walked into the living room to find chocolates and a gift bag on the table.

" What's all this?" I said surprising.

"I know what today is, so I thought I'd try and cheer you up" spoke Gareth.

He saw my surprised face and embraced me in a hug, I rested my head on his shoulder and leaned into his touch.

I never thought I would love again after Neymar, but this is a different kind of love and I couldn't hold my happiness on the line forever.

"Thank you, I don't know what I did to deserve you"

He caressed my face and gave me a soft kiss.

" You are the strongest, bravest, most kindest man I have ever met and you are an amazing father to our daughter, you deserve to be treated special."

I was overwhelmed by what was going on, I gave him a kiss and walked into the bedroom.

I should be happy that I have an amazing boyfriend and daughter but I can't help but feel that I'm wrong for moving on from Neymar.
