Sincere Melody - A Lukanette Story

Chapter 4

I open up my purse and Tikki flies out. I look up at Luka, my cheeks flushed. His face was in shock... as I expected. "Luka, I'm Ladybug" I blurted out and immediately covered my mouth, knowing I was crazy. I heard a scream in the distance, I couldn't waste any more time. Before he had a chance to speak, I looked at Tikki and nodded "Tikki, spots on!" she flew to my earrings and my suit came on, and with a small pink flash, I was a famous superhero standing in my boyfriends' room. His lips were still parted, obviously in shock.

"Wait, Mari-" he began, but I kissed his lips quickly and sat him down on the edge of the bed "Look, I'll come back after I deakumatize the villain. Stay here, stay safe." I take my yoyo, throw it out the window, and zip away, leaving Luka sitting there. As I'm flying through the air, my head is filled with fear and guilt, but I have to focus. I scan the scenery and spot Chat Noir on a rooftop, landing next to him and looking at him "Fill me in, what's the villain, and what do they do?" I stand up and look at him.

"Well hello m'lady," he smiles then his face hardens as he looks over the city, scanning the streets. "Her name is Masquerade. It looked like her Akuma is in her staff, she shoots these energy balls out of it and it makes people tell their deepest secret. I watched some secrets get leaked, we can't get shot or else our identities will be revealed." he frowns and crouches down. "Which wouldn't be completely bad, I'd get to see my beautiful bugaboo under the mask!" he makes big eyes and laughs. I smile a little, "Focus kitty."

I sigh and look up as I hear a loud cackle and unnerving screams "Ladybug, Chat Noir! Show yourselves so I can expose your secrets!" I hear Masquerade yell. I look up at Chat, "Okay Kitty, let's stop her" I start twirling my yoyo as we jump off the roof and run to Masquerade.

(Insert some badass fight scene I'm too lazy to put in cause Idk what to do)

"Pound it!" Chat Noir and I say in unison. I let the butterfly go out of my yoyo and smile. "Miraculous Ladybug!" I yell as I throw my lucky charm up into the air, and all the ladybugs fly out to fix everything. I look at kitty as I hear my earrings beep, "That's my que, Chat. Bug o-" I start to say, but pause as I feel Chat Noir holding my wrist and looking at me.

"Ladybug, wait." He frowns "Can you stay a little? I need some advice..." I sigh and take his hand.

"We have patrol tomorrow, don't worry kitty, I'll see you then." I smile and throw my yoyo, starting to swing away to go back to Luka. My mind started racing again, but I knew I had to go back anyways.

- Chat Noir POV -

I wave goodbye to her as she swings away, but I sigh. "I need to ask her or else I'll forget. Ladybug, wait!" I yell out to her as I follow her. I know I shouldn't be following... but the question is important. As I hop from one rooftop to the next, I see her land on the boat where Luka and Juleka live. "What in the..."

I see her stand on the deck, and then sit down. "Maybe I should go..." I say to myself as I sit there. A minute later, I see Luka walk out, and my breath hitches. I see him take her hands and kisses her. "My lady..." I reach my hand out, wanting to be the one to touch her. I feel my blood boil and I think for a minute, then hear my ring beep. I start running to my house, "Game on Luka."

- Ladybug POV -

I feel my stomach sink as I land onto dock of Lukas boat, a small wave sending the boat to rock. I hear a door close, followed by some footsteps. I'm too nervous to look up, but I know I have to. "Hey," I hear Luka say, and I feel my throat going dry. I look up and he looks tired, his hair messy and he's in the same T-shirt, but pants that look a bit more comfortable. He's smiling, he hands on the waistband of his pants.

He walks over to me and takes my hands, "Look, Marinette... why don't we talk a little before I take you home, okay?" he smiles and I look up and nod, kissing his lips as he leads me back to his room. I feel myself ease up, but I still feel the pit of dread that's in my stomach. "Tikki, spots off," I say as I de transform, tikki now staring at me "Marinette, what were you thinking? You know-" I sigh and jump back a bit when I hear Luka.

"What is that thing?"  he points to tikki and I sigh, sitting him down "It's a lot to explain... I'm sorry, I wasn't supposed to tell you that I'm ladybug. I don't expect you to forget it, but listen when I tell you, no one can know I'm Ladybug. Please, keep this secret. I trust you." I smile at him as tikki flies in my purse.

"Marinette, I would never tell anyone. I promise. Besides, your an extraordinary girl, clear as a music note, sincere as melody, and the song that I've been hearing ever since I first met you." he kisses my forehead with a smile.

After about an hour, Luka walks me home. My parents were upstairs so I sneaked him a snack or two and kissed him goodbye. He stopped me with a smile, "So... one question before I go. Why did you choose me to be Viperion?" I giggle a little.

"You're wise, smart, and very caring. I knew you would be perfect for him, and you're a great superhero." I smile and cup his cheek with my palm. "You should get home. Be safe, alright?" he nods and we wave goodbye, heading up to my room for the night.

- The Next Day -

After I get ready for the morning and grab a croissant from the bakery, I head to school. I see Luka and smile as I walk over, feeling his arm snake around my shoulder. I giggle as we talk for a little, then walk into school. He walks me to my locker so I can grab my stuff, but I'm interrupted by a loud slam which startles me.

"How dare you, Luka! You.. you snake!" I look to my left, shocked when I see Adrien pinning Luka against the lockers. "Adrien!" I yell as I look at him "What are you even talking about?" I see a crowd forming but I just look at him.

"Marinette, Luka is cheating on you with ladybug! I saw it with my own eyes last night as my bodyguard was driving me home!" he pulls and then pushes Luka up against the locker again and I feel my heart sink and my breathing accelerate, but I scowl and push Adrien off of him.

"Adrien you don't know what you're talking about, don't touch him!" I yell and feel Alya grab my arm and whisper to me "Hey, calm down it's okay. Adrien, a good reporter always has proof. Do you have any?" Alya stands next to me and looks at Adrien.

"I... I don't... but I know what I saw, Luka! You were kissing Ladybug on the deck of the boat you live on, you're cheating on Marinette!" he points his finger at Luka and I finally snap. "Adrien, enough!" I yell and extend my arms out to the sides and look at him. "You don't know what you're talking about."

After a little bit, everything dies down. I felt twinges of guilt, but after everyone left, I looked at Luka, "We can't risk getting caught, it's too dangerous. From now on, it's just me and you... normally, okay?" I smile as he rubs the back of neck. "Sorry... promise we'll be more careful. Either us in costume or out." he says a little quieter with a laugh and I grab my books, heading to class with him.

I felt the rage fuming inside me, my face heating up. After everyone left the locker room, I stood where they couldn't see me, but I could hear them. My eyes go wide as I hear them, but... what does Marinette mean? I gasp and hide behind the lockers when I hear them walking to the door, then come out of hiding.

"Plagg, what did she mean? Normal selves? Out of costume? I know exactly what I saw, he... wait..." I pull out my phone and go on the ladyblog. I scroll through the hero gallery and look at the pictures of Ladybug, Me, and... Viperion. "Plagg... Marinette is ladybug, isn't she?"
