We all sat at the table, except for Elliot, after we woke Hailey up and she went to the bathroom to empty her stomach. How much was she drinking that she ended up throwing up. We got each a piece of cake. Emma wanted two. I was sitting between her and Michael. She looked like she wanted to be far away from Michael. She kept on gazing in his direction. She was pretty shaken up. What the hell was going on?
'Are you ok, Emma?' I whispered to her after I nudged her softly.
'Mh? Yeah.' Emma said. 'Apparently I don't like this brand of beer.' Emma said laughing.
'Really? But you chose it yourself.' I said confused.
'I wanted to try something new. It wasn't the right moment to do that.' said Emma swirling the soda from her cup. She took a break from alcohol now. Cake and alcohol don't go well together.
Kate was talking a whole lot. It was gibberish at this point, but at least she was happy. She was kissing Hailey a whole lot to wake her up. Hailey usually is asleep by now and she's drank more than usual, I'm wondering how she's still awake. It was cute when they were both giggling.
Mia and Sara were talking how they usually do. They somehow never stop getting stuff to talk about. I wish I could be able to talk so confidently like them.
Even Michael was happy. He may say that the cake is ok, but his face says that it's awesome.
Emma isn't though. It's not because she's feeling sick. She has been vomiting and still looked very excited.
I wrapped my arm around her shoulders and poked her cheek.
'What's wrong?' I whispered.
'Nothing.' she said.
'Why the long face? Who made you sad? I'll kick their ass. Even if it's myself.' I said sticking out my tongue.
'It's nothing.' she said laughing at me but her eyebrows are arched downwards. Something is making her mad.
'Pat, if you had any facial hair, I'd pull it.' Emma said smiling.
'No, you wouldn't.' I said smiling.
'Yes, I would.' Emma said, crossing her arms.
'Do you know why you wouldn't?' I asked, still smiling.
'Enlighten me with that knowledge.' she said, rolling her eyes.
'Because it's my birthday.' I said, licking her cheek.
'EW! Patrick! That's disgusting.' Emma said while pushing my arm off her.
'You'll never escape my grip.' I said trying to hug her. Key word: trying.
She pinched my chest right where Michael made a hickey. I retrieved my arm. That will teach me to keep my arms away from someone else's property... or not.
'Ow. That hurt.' I said grabbing my chest.
'I didn't even pinch you that hard.' Emma said.
I tried to pinch her belly but she moved her chair. I tried again and again until I got her.
'Ha! Gotcha, bitch!' I said trying even more.
'You motherfucker!' said Emma playfully.
'You know that that doesn't hurt me.' I said pausing.
'Oh yeah, you never fucked anybody.' she said smugly.
Michael burst a little laugh and covered his mouth.
'Ey! Wa's yo' problem, fucker?' asked Emma.
'Ah, nothing.' said Michael nonchalantly taking a bite of cake and smiling to himself.
I was just sitting there blushing and took a bite of cake as well.
'Or were you the one fucking him? That would be a huge plot twist.' said Emma smugly.
'Huh? Are you hearing what you're saying?' I said blushing even harder.
Michael bursted out laughing again, this time louder and longer. I could laugh along with him if I didn't know Emma and she'd say "haha fucker" all the time.
'Then why are you blushing this hard?' asked Emma pinching my cheek like a grandma would do.
'Because you're spewing a huge amount of bullshit out of that blabbering mouth of yours.' I said trying to pull her fingers away from my face. Her grip is harder to break than steel.
'I mean, it should be obvious which one of us could actually do that.' said Michael. I could see that he was holding his laughter with all his might.
Emma started laughing. Michael only innocently smiled at me like he told me something cute.
'Fuck you both!' I said crossing my arms and pouting.
'You see what I'm talking about.' said Michael to Emma.
Emma was still laughing. Everyone was listening at this point and giggling. Fuck you all!!!
After we all finished the girls decided to go back home and call it a day. Elliot will go to aunt Grace's house tomorrow morning. I gave Lizzy a text to let her know that her husband is too drunk to drive home or even stay awake so he'll stay over. She responded in a few seconds "Typical of him. Remind him in the morning that I'll kick his ass if he doesn't come directly home." So, it's not the first time he's fallen asleep at parties without even texting her.
Michael wanted to stay a little longer to help with cleaning. I think someone was too shy to say that they spilled a cup and tried to clean up but failed. We were done very quickly in two. Yay, teamwork!
'Ok, we're finally done.' I said leaning on a wall.
'Yup.' Michael said, taking his button up. He had only his undershirt this whole time. 'I think I'll go home. Good night, Patrick!' he said smiling.
I stopped him and pulled on his arm. He turned around and looked at me surprised. He had his hand on the door handle.
'Can you stay the night?' I asked sheepishly.
'Sorry, I can't. I have to go earlier in the morning for work.' he said looking sorry.
'How about round two?' I said, giving him a small smile and trying to sound more confident.
Michael was taken aback for a second, but then he gave me a smirk.
'That sounds promising.'
