The rain was getting heavier and the car's headlight shone brighter as it was once again getting closer to her, following her. It was cold. The chills of panic was getting to Josie.

The events earlier were flashing before Josie's eyes. If she just hadn't stormed out of the house then maybe she wouldn't have to face the terror of getting abducted or even being mistaken as somewhat of a...call girl.

--------

Thursday Evening

When Josie stepped inside the boarding school, the smell of books and papers, the smell of an antique building quickly engulfed her nose.

The wooden floors and walls that were illuminated by several lamps that surrounded the entrance it all felt nostalgic, sentimental even.

She missed her school. She missed her home.

For people to understand a bit of Josie's life you need to know a little information about her school.

The Salvatore boarding school wasn't a school at first. It was a boarding house that had been passed down through generations and generations until Caroline's husband and his brother owned it.

There's a lot more complicated history but as far as what was important, Josie's father founded the once Salvatore boarding house into the Salvatore Boarding School. But this would not have been possible if it weren't for the generous donation of Hope's father, Klaus Mikaelson.

It had been Josie's home ever since, but that's not to say they didn't have an actual house here in Mystic Falls.

Josie and her mom had already eaten after dropping Penelope off at the grill. After saying good night to her mom she went to her old room.

She once again saw the two beds that were reserved for the the Saltzman siblings. The two of them had been roommates ever since they were kids.

After Lizzie graduated from Salvatore, everything became different at first but of course, she got used to it.

Josie walked towards her bed and plopped down on it. She had missed this room. She expected that the place would have been a little bit dusty but apparently, Caroline had always kept it clean for whenever her daughters came back home.

------

The following day came. Throughout it, Josie roamed around the boarding school helping her mom with various tasks that came with managing a school.

Josie's father, Alaric, had always been the headmaster of the school. But recently, Caroline replaced Alaric.

When Josie finished helping her mom with the tasks, she headed to the school's library dedicated to Caroline's late husband.

She observed the place, taking note of just how quiet the library can be. How peaceful the place looked as the light from outside shone through the library's stained glass windows. Along with the specks of dust illuminated by the light, floating through the room.

After grabbing a book she sat down on her favourite spot. Before she could read it, she remembered all the times she spent at this library studying or staying here to find a moment of peace with her thoughts. But the place was almost never as quiet as it was now. Because somehow there was always a couple making out at the corner.

The Salvatore library, the second spot in the school where both fuck boys and girls brought their new target of the week.

She suddenly thought of Penelope.

I bet that she would bring a lot of people here.

Josie shook her head and decided to finally open the book she had picked out. But she couldn't help her thoughts from going back to the green-eyed girl.
