Alexander looked around. He couldn't tell everyone. No. He couldn't. Well, Alexander could, but he didn't feel comfortable doing so. I'm just going to tell John and that's it.
"Uhm... John?" He looked at the freckled boy, biting his lip. "I'd rather prefer I only tell you...'
"Oh.." John looked at the others who nodded. "Well, I'm alright with that. Now or later?"
"Now."
"Alright. See you guys later." John said, nodding toward the others who waved. He and Alexander left the theater together, standing outside the door.
Alexander fidgeted a moment, looking down. "Like I said... Are you sure..?" He looked back up at John, who nodded.
"Well.. I guess I can start with the harder stuff." Alexander bit his lip.
"When I was 10, my father left. I can't say whether I was happy or sad, but I knew he wasn't the best. Two years later, my mother had fallen ill. I did as well, but I recovered and she... didn't. I moved with my cousin for the next four years but then..... He committed suicide. There was a hurricane just before I immigrated. I wrote about it, people read what I wrote, and now I'm here in America, with a scholarship and a new adoptive family-soon."
Alexander finished, looking up at John. He hadn't realized he was crying, but John must've have noticed as he pulled Alexander into a warm hug, to which he returned.
They stayed like that, both silent for awhile before John spoke up. "Who's adopting you ..?"
Alexander smiled. "Washington." He said, to which John's eyes widened slightly.
"As in, our teacher?"
Alexander nodded. He heard someone kick down the door, to see Lafayette holding up a book. "Quelqu'un a touché mon John! Qui était-ce !? QUI A TOUCHÉ MON FILS- (Someone touched my John! Who was it!? WHO TOUCHED MY SON-)"
Seeing Alexander hugging John, he lowered the book, sighing in relief. "D'accord. C'est juste toi. J'espérais honnêtement que ça l'était. (Okay. It's just you. I honestly hoped it was.) " He mumbled, Alexander blushing slightly, John blinking in confusion.
John just stared down at Alexander.
I must protect the linnamon roll.
