The Man I Never Saw (Chrollo x Reader)

My body feels like it's exploding with life energy. I felt every node in my body open as the energy slowly flowed out. I held my breathe as the energy store inside my body released into the air around Master Wing, my mother and I.

"See," Master Wing assured my mother and I, "after months of practice and meditation, y/n was able to pull it off. Now we must do the Water Divination Test" Master Wing stomped out of the room. My mother pulled me into a tight hug, squeezing the life out of me, or so I thought.

an: I know in the show, Killua and Gon practiced their nen before they did the water divination test, but I didn't want to waste time :))

"y/n," my mom said softly, "I want you to know that I am very proud of you today. All this hard work will be celebrated after okay? You don't understand how happy I am for you. Even though your father isn't here, he would be so happy for you as well" She rubs my back as a sign of reassurance.

I rub my fingers against my mother's blouse shirt. Yeah right, I thought, bullshit. You think my father will be happy for me after he left my mom BECAUSE OF ME? He lost interest in her BECAUSE OF ME. My mother now does so much for me. She spends so much time around the house and never goes out at all. I'm so useless.

"Master Wing," my mom calls out pushing me out of the hug, "what- why do you have a cup with a leaf in it?"

Wing clears his throat, "This is the water divination test. It's a test to show which nen ability you have. There are six different types of nen abilities.

"Enhancer are usually well- rounded nen users compared to the other categories. They often use their nen to improve their natural abilities of their body and objects--"

My mom jumps in, "maybe we should do the test first and then talk about what her nen abilities are before you rant about the other abilities. Please tuck in your shirt will you?" I hear the disgust in her voice. 

He gasped, quickly realized what my mom said and did as he was told, "Ah, yes you are right. The glass is placed on the table in front of you, y/n. Just hover your hands over the glass using your nen, okay?"

I nod softly reaching for the glass, not knowing exactly where to pinpoint it. My mother softly grabs my soft, brittle hands and supposably placing my hands over the glass cup. I mostly focused on my breathing as I felt my nen swirl around my body. I already knew about the six different types of nen; enhancer, manipulator, transmuter, emitter, specialist and conjurer; I just need to know which one was mine.

I don't feel any water around me so I don't think i'm an enhancer. One down.

I hear my mom gasp, "Master Wing look, the leaf has moved on it's own" She applauded as she stood up and hugged the Master. Moved the leaf? What type of nen is tha-- A Manipulator.

"Ma'am," Wing tries to get out of mom's grip, "your daughter is-"

"A manipulator" We say in unison, "I know that. Well thank you for your time" I bow towards him, grabbing my white cane, "I hope we didn't bother you as much"

"Oh don't say that you didn't," Wing said, "don't forget to be practicing Ten, Ren, Zetsu, and Hatsu okay? I'll see you again in 2 weeks, kiddo" He chuckles as my mom leads us both out the door.

I flop onto my bed, tiredly. My body began to feel sore after continuously using nen. After opening the nodes in my body, the aura began to flow freely. I transition slowly from using Ten to Zetsu, focusing mostly on my breathing. Slow and carefully. Deep breath in; the nodes in my body slowly dilated, releasing the energy in my body; deep breathe out; the small nodes constricted themselves until no energy flowed out. I continued this routine until i heard my mother opening the door.
