Why

I decided I might as well try to get Adam to talk, so I sent him a text.

S: hey we need to talk

It took a while, a very nervous while, but he eventually responded.

A: what about

S: not to sound rude or anything, but why'd you do it?

A: do what?

S: come to my town for no reason

A: i've got a reason

I paused before sending the next text. Would he tell me?

S: what's your reason?

A: can't tell you

I didn't realize how tense I was sitting until I relaxed. Of course he's not telling.

Maybe I could get him to say something...

S: why can't you tell me?

A: because i don't think i should...not yet anyway

I raised an eyebrow. What?

S: what, have you suddenly become the riddler?

A: no

S: then what's with all the cryptic messages

A: i just don't think i should tell anyone yet

I sighed. This was impossible.

S: well i hope that hotel room has a computer

A: why?

He should know why. Why doesn't he know why?

S: because your fans are going ballistic. we've been covering for you for three days

A: oh. right

I didn't send anything for a while.

A: could you possibly stall them for a few more days?

What? WHAT?

S: adam, i don't know what's going on with you, but this is not like you. you need to make a video

A: not right now i dont

S: i'm going to stop covering for you if you don't

A: no you won't

S: what makes you so sure?

A: because you dont want to see my channel crash and burn

Damn. He had me there.

S: you do?

A: my channel is not my top priority

S: what do you mean? your fans miss you

A: the "fans" aren't important right now

Whoa. Something's definitely wrong. Adam cared about his subscribers.

S: why is that?

A: because i've got business here that's more important

Ha! Got him!

S: business? what kind of business?

A: i said i'm not telling you yet

S: fine. but if you dont get your act together soon, i'll stop covering for you

A: keep telling yourself that, sis

I didn't send anything else.

This whole situation was three thousand "why" questions.

Why did Adam disappear?

Why was he here?

Why wouldn't he tell us what he was doing?

Why was his channel suddenly unimportant to him?

Why was he acting like the world's biggest jerk?

Why doesn't he care?

And why do I have a gut feeling Adam isn't Adam anymore? 

I shake my head. It has to be him. I love Supernatural, but I know none of it's real.

...Could it be?
