Ray grabbed hold of Ellie's lightly tanned hands unconsciously. The five of them bolted as fast as their feet could carry. The heavy sound of the monster's feet echoed with the vibration of the ground.
"Don't look back!" Ray shouted
Ellie, after hearing this she still turned her head unknowingly. She gasped as her feet continued to run as she was being pulled by Ray's hand. She let out a loud scream and turned back her head closing her eyes shut.
At the side of her, Mila screamed herself even though she didn't look back. As they were running Coco stumbled on a rock that was cover in the darkness of the night. He fell to the ground, receiving a large gash on his knee.
Coco groaned in pain as his body completely fell to the ground and he held his knee, hoping the pain would go away. Trying to get off the ground it only held him closer down as veins grasped his left foot tightly.
The others noticing him missing rushed over to him. Mila quickly covered her eyes she saw the blood continuously racing out of his right leg and the small sight of flesh.
"He's stuck in the veins." Ray stated, "We have to get him out!"
Ellie trying best to think as her mind only focused on her racing heart.
"A knife!" she exclaimed, "Does anyone have a knife!"
Everyone was silent answering her question clearly.
"All our stuff," Alan calmly said. "is at the damn camp!"
He continued in a shout, shooting his hands in the air.
Ray held his head for a moment before attempting to free Coco from the veins. Coco stopped his hand and they couldn't have reckoned what he was about to say.
"There's no point, I can't walk anyways."
Mila, completely forgetting they were running form a beast shouted up to the tip of her voice.
"Are you crazy!" she pointed to the slowly walking creature.
"If we leave you you'll die and..."
"Does it matter?" he cut her off not allowing her to say no more.
"We don't know what we're fighting to live for."
Ellie watched as the monster came closer towards them. Her body becoming suddenly weak. Her eyes began to negligible water.
"We came to hear knowing nothing," Coco continued "With nothing."
By now the unfriendly creature was a few meters away. They looked up at it with fear shaped perfectly in their eyes. The full black eyes of the beast stared at Coco excitedly as it's lip curled up in a scandalized grin.
Mila covered her mouth as a soft cry escaped her fingers. She took a step back as her feet felt weak.
Everyone made little steps back as the creature began to bend down towards them. As the monster extended his hands, it's long fingers caused Ellie to fell sick as she covered her mouth, refusing to allow herself to vomit what she just ate.
"We have to go," Alan said beginning to walk away but his eyes couldn't leave the monster.
'If only we didn't leave the weapons at the camp.' Ellie thought, still grazing at the beats in front her.
The monster grabbed Coco, ripping the veins off his leg. Coco screamed in pain he felt his ribs being cracked from the grip of the hand of the monster.
The creature raised his eyes and Coco's owns widened as another scream rushed out of his mouth. His eyes showed complete terror in them.
The monster turned him sideways before swiftly breaking his neck with its other hand. Droplets of blood skipped in the sky. One not missing to drop itself on to Mila cheeks.
