I had always thought we'd be together, since my parents were, well, dead.

I felt terrible for Peter, his mother was dying, and there was nothing he could do about it. Ms. Quill was very nice, considering she and her family took me in after my parents passed, when me and Peter became best friends.

It was quiet in the hospital, other than the beeping coming from Ms. Quill's room and the faint sound of my best friend, Peter's, heaphones.

I'm not in love,

So don't forget it.

It's just a silly phase I'm going through.

His hand was locked in mine, squeezing it tight while the other one was playing with his Walkman. His grandfather came out of the room and knelt down to look at Peter, "Peter," he softly said. Squeezed his hand to get his attention, which didn't work, "Peter. Take these fool things off." His grandfather said, taking the headphones off of his grandson's head.

"Your mother wants to see you.." Peter stood up, letting go of my hand in the process. I gave him a weak smile, which he attempted to return, but failed miserably. He walked slowly in the room, his grandfather following closely behind him.

I had already said goodbye to her days before...

"Take good care of him, please." Ms. Quill begged toward the young girl, "I will, don't worry." She held the cancer diagnosed woman's hand tightly and smiled.

"Don't- just, keep him safe." Ms. Quill said, Jasmine nodded. She knew her and Peter were going to get through this together.

I was pulled out of my train of thought when a familiar voice screamed, "No!" Peter repeatedly screamed as I ran after him.

He dropped to the middle of the field, crying, "Peter!" I screamed as I ran toward him. I dropped beside him and hugged him as he continued to cry, "Hey, it'll be okay. We'll make it, I promise." He smiled up at me.

Suddenly, a light came from above, raining down on us, I looked up and quickly regretted it. "Mom!" Peter screamed.

Quickly, I screamed for my life.
