Your POV
Editing for Mark was an amazing time. I've been doing it for about a week now and it's so much fun. I head over to his place everyday to edit. Occasionally I hang around to watch an Unus Annus video before making my way into the office.
So far two of my edited videos have been up on the channel and there had been no complaints. It feels great. Everyone appreciates my work and I feel so important to the team. I love it so much.
Work is fun, I adore it more than any job I have ever had before. Everyone is so kind and there's just the right level of pressure without being overly stressful.
I showed up today and the room was pretty quiet. I made my way to the office area and turned on a computer to start working. Katherine is at her desk editing as well with a cup of coffee on her desk. I pull the muffin I had out of my bag and start to eat while I download the clips I need.
I hear the front door open and and shut again and I turn towards it even though it's unseeable from here. I'm pretty sure it's Ethan though because of the way he clumsily loses the door. "Ethan, don't slam the door!" Amy shouts. "You're going to chip the paint!"
Yep, it was Ethan.
He pops his head into the office. "Hey, Katherine," he greets and turns to me with a nod. "(Y/N)."
"Ethan," I reply with the same type of shirt nod when I look away from the computer screen briefly.
"So you guys might just want to start thanking me now and calling me your favorite person ever because I bought you guys bagels."
"Dammit, Ethan, if only you were here five minutes earlier. I already had a muffin."
"That's too bad, (Y/N), because you're definitely eating one of my bagels."
I laugh a little bit. "Okay, okay. Fine," I give in and grab a bagel out of the bag in Ethan's hands.
"Thank you," he replied and goes about the house tracking everyone down and sharing his wealth of bagels.
Soon I hear the commotion inside of the kitchen which means they're about to start making an Unus Annus video. I finish up what I'm doing and slowly walk towards the kitchen so I don't disrupt the filming. I stop and take a seat in a bar stool and sit to watch. I have no idea what they're doing but there's pots and weird thermometers involved. One thing I notice though, is Ethan's inability to stay still.
It's only when they begin to drain it do I realize what they're making. Cheese. I almost gag from the smell and sound of it being poured. "Yeah that doesn't smell good," Ethan says, his nose scrunched up in disgust.
"It feels like a boob," Mark scoffs a bit.
"It does kind of fee like a boob," Ethan laughs.
"I take a lot of offense to that frankly," Amy interjects.
I nod in agreement with her. "Same here."
Ethan turns and looks at me and laughs a bit. They carry on with the process of their horrible attempt at cheese making until it's finally over. They bring the cheese over to the counter and start a bit of commentary and taste it. "(Y/N), you want to try some?" Ethan asks me after handing some to Amy.
I bite my lips and give in. I try Ethan's first. "Oh my God, Ethan. It is all texture!" I exclaim and make a face. I try Mark's and make an equally as disgusted face. "It's sour."
They finish up the video and Ethan looks to me. "Come on, it wasn't that bad," he says rolling his eyes at me.
I'm trying to wash the taste out of my mouth with (favorite drink). "Ethan, it's still in my mouth. It just crumbled and found every crevice imaginable," I retort and walk over to the sink to wash out my mouth.
"Someone's a little dramatic."
"Come on, (Y/N), that's what it means to go even further beyond," Mark jokes as he cleans up.
"If that's what going further beyond means, I'd rather stay right where I am."
I finished my work day about three hours later and grab all of my belongings. I start to walk out and run into Ethan. I stumble a bit, but don't fall because Ethan's hands are gripping my arms in an attempt to catch me. "My bad, (Y/N)," Ethan apologizes after helping me steady myself.
"It's all good. What was the rush?" I laugh slightly and get my backpack set on my shoulders again.
"No rush, I just walk fast."
I nod slightly and he flashes me a smile. "Well, walk a little slower next time," I tease and wave a bit before walking out of the front door.
My car is, of course, sitting in the exact spot that I left it. I love my job more than any I've ever had before. It's the right amount of challenging and everyone I work with is just so amazingly wonderful. They're all so nice and funny and just so easy to get along with. But I will never eat anything Mark or Ethan for a video ever again.
