When I woke up, I had a raging headache from the fall. My immediate reaction was to sense for any souls. There were two within probably about 100 feet. One was laying on top of me, probably the one girl who had pushed me down. The other was distant, but moving closer. The girl didn't seem awake. At least, not until something suddenly pulled her off of me. She kinda yelled, and reached for me, but missed as I rolled and stood, ready for whatever was there. It was untrackable. Where was it's soul?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A flower. A fuckin flower had me in whatever arms it had manahed to grow. The girl had rolled out of my reach and stood, but I was more focused on this thing thst was trying to kill me. The girl could die and I wouldn't care, but I didn't want to die to a plant. My first reaction was to grab the knife at my waist and slice at the "arm" a few times. I cut free and ran, moving next to the girl and quickly sliding into whatever fighting position I knew. The flower wasn't going after her. Why?
Flames suddenly erupted from the doorway to the room we had fallen into. The girl covered her face with her arms, trying to ward it off. The fire didn't hurt us but, instead, injured the flower, making it leave in whatever way it did. Some sort of goat laby walked through the doorway, looking at what she'd done. Slowly, the girl uncovered her face. She seemed like she would start crying of some sort of fear and the goat quickly went up to her.
"Oh, my dear child. Did I scare you? I apologize."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was terrified. The second soul had come to help, but she had used fire. Why fire? I took a couple of deep breaths and stayed silent, trying to calm down. First the girl, now whatever had just tried to kill us. When I didn't respond, a pair of furry arms scooped me up like a child.

"Come, you two. I will take you to my home and we can have some butterscotch cinnamon pie."

The girl that had fallen with me spoke as we started moving.

"Who are you?"

"I am Toriel, Caretaker of the Ruins. And who might you be, younger one?"

"My name's Elinada."

"What a peculiar name. And you're friend?"

"Oh, she's not my friend. I don't know her."

"Hmm. Well, it is strange of you to fall together. What happened?"

"She pushed me down here and I dragged her with."

"Oh, dear. Is there a reason she did it?"

"I don't know. Perhaps you should ask her."

"Well, child. Why did you push her?"

I was quiet, as if asleep.

"Child?"

I mumbled as I started to speak.

"My name's Marintha... and I didn't push her..."

"That can't be right. Which one of you is lying?"

Elinada hopped into the conversation, "She is. She just doesn't want you to know. That's why she's mumbling."

Toriel responded, "Well, one of you did something. Are you sure one just didn't trip over the other?"

"Oh, yes, I'm very sure."

I spoke up, "You tried to kill me. You pushed me and I pulled you down with me. You know this."

Toriel spoke to both of us.

"Let us stop arguing, please. Now," a door opened and closed. "I will go get you both some cinnamon butterscotch pie. You remain here."

Toriel set me down in a chair. Elinada sat down next to me as Toriel went into the next room. I set my hands on the table, patiently waiting and staring through the abyss of nothing.
