Passion is momentary; love is enduring.- John Wooden

During brunch Gwen had finally left in the middle of it. She couldn't bear the sudden news of the marriage that was going to happen in three months. She despised MJ for taking away the love of her life. For years she has been throwing many hints that she liked Peter, yet he never seemed to get the hint. They met when they were in high school, never dated; only friends with "benefits", but they were close. Or at least that's what she thought they were. She couldn't just let him slip away that easily, she couldn't give up on the one person she truly had an interest in. But she thought it was better to leave the brunch to relieve the tension and her thoughts. Though, she promised to be back soon.

"Aunt May, I think it's time for MJ to settle in for the day." Peter told her.

They have been talking about wedding plans for more than two hours straight. Looking at MJ, Peter could tell she was getting exhausted from all of the stuff his Aunt has been throwing at her. He was quite impressed with how she managed it all. Not once did she stutter when telling her false stories, or "future" plans she planned to do after their "marriage". He was curious about what was real and not, the way she spoke about herself and her expectations sounded genuine. He wasn't sure what to believe, and he doubted she would willingly open up to him.

She once again shocked Peter.

"Oh my, I'm so sorry. I was just excited about the sudden news and wanted to get to know you more." Aunt May said with an apologetic smile.

MJ let out a warm hearted laugh, "No need to be sorry, I was excited to finally get to meet Peter's family. You've been so caring about all of the sudden news, I hope I didn't intrude just dropping a bomb like this."

"No dear, I enjoyed your company. I'm happy to have an extra member in the family." Aunt May responded to MJ giving her a warm smile.

"Glad to know you guys are already getting along with each other." Peter chuckled watching his Aunt and MJ interact. From the very beginning he was very nervous about MJ meeting her, he wasn't sure she would pass the first task. But it shocked him, he was wrong and as much as he hated being wrong he let it slide. The plan was working perfectly; he didn't care.

Aunt May got up from her chair, "Alright, I think it's time for me to finally let you guys settle in now." Following her action MJ and Peter stood up from their seats as well.

"It was a pleasure meeting you." MJ said grinning. Her first task was coming to an end and it seemed like Peter's Aunt took a fond interest in her. She was proud of herself for not giving away the plan. She had thought it would have been difficult but to her surprise it wasn't.

"You too love, I was nice meeting you."

Suddenly a ringing phone started blaring off interrupting them. Aunt May looked down on the table at her phone being ringed. "Looks like business is calling, I will see you guys later." she picked up the cell phone answering the call before leaving out the kitchen and outside into her car.

After Aunt May had left, MJ let out a deep breath, "Well it looks like that went better than I expected." she gave Peter a relieved look. Even though she thought it looked like she knew what she was doing she didn't have a clue. The entire time her palms were sweating underneath the table and the hair on her arms stood in fear.
