I was in this dark place.
The woods?
Yes. Seems like it. There were so many silhouettes of tree trunks. If only they were actually trees.
Darkness and a defeaning silence enveloped me. The silence seemed to be so loud that it muffled the sounds of my beating heart. Owls whooed and bats swooped the air. I couldn't make out much. I don't know why but I wasn't at all sacred.
I was alone. At least that's what I thought until the sound of a breaking twig sent all that out in the trash.
I became scared suddenly. My short and raspy breaths made feel more and more dizzy. Then there came a growl right behind me. It was low, deadly. Nothing I've ever heard before. I shuddered, slowly turning to face my predator. I made out a darker silhouette in a shape of a wolf.
    A wolf?
No. It was huge, 10 times larger than a normal wolf. My heart seemed to drop  straight into my stomach. I froze stuck  between the present and my past, no idea if I even had a future.
The silhouette moved, its mighty paws taking a step closer into the dim moonlight.
I gasped. It had the darkest fur I had ever seen.
     It was darker than black.
Its golden eyes pierced through my very soul. Thunder rumbled through him.

     Him?

I didn't know how I knew this but I just did. Suddenly, he roared attempting to pounce.

I jolted out of sleep, chest heaving frantically as I managed to catch my breaths.
