I ran out of my room, determined to find either Jacee or Autumn. I emerge from my room to find pitch blackness. First things first, I thought, I need a light. I searched the drawers, and found a flashlight. Very quietly, I start walking back to where I first was. The main room. When I was walking with Autumn to get to my room, I wasn't paying much attention to which way we turned or which path we took. At this point, I was going any direction that seemed right. This meant, I would always go right. I will admit, I was a little bit of a rebel. I went left a couple of times. So here I am, completely lost, in a place that I have no idea where it is. I couldn't even remember how to get back to my room! Well this is it, I thought, I'm never going to find my way. I'm lost and I can't find my sister, or even the only friend I have. Autumn. I went and sat in a corner and just started sobbing. It was all sinking in. How I didn't know where my family was, I couldn't remember the past, and I was lost inside a building.
Suddenly I see something moving. I went silent, and sunk back into the shadows, turning off my flashlight. I squinted to see what, or who, it was. I didn't recognize them, but I knew it was a boy, around my age, and in my opinion, kind of cute. I caught my breath at his amazing black hair. It was shaggy and so cute! His eyes were as blue as the ocean. He was pretty tall, well at least compared to me.
Even though I didn't know who he was, or where he was going, I followed him. It was better than being lost. Maybe he was going to the place I needed to be! I followed behind him for a while, until he turned around and I had to dive into a potted plant to not be seen. We went through so many turns, I wad getting dizzy. Soon enough I was wondering if we would ever stop. Suddenly, the boy stopped. I snuck into a corner, and his in the shadows. He slowly turned around.
"I know your there." he said. "You don't need to keep hiding. It's alright, I'm not going to get you into any trouble as long as you stick with me." The calmness in his voice made me a little uneasy. When you find out someone is following you, you normally aren't calm. Especially if you don't know them.
Slowly I came out into the little light of his flashlight. I clicked my own flashlight on, and just stared. I was really nervous and didn't know what to say.
"Who are you?" Is all that came out of my mouth.
"That's a good question. But first, I'd like to know, who the lovely girl is that decided to follow me?"
"I'm new here, and don't want to get in your way, so I'll just go now." I said. I Didn't want to make a bad impression and defiantly didn't want him to see me blushing. I turned and started to run back the way we came.
"Wait!" He yelled. I heard him chasing after me. I turned a corner and his in a corner. I clicked off my light, and sat in the corner. I heard they boy slow down as he got near me.
"It isn't that easy to get away from me." He laughed a little bit, and I hoped it wasn't at me. I could see him pull something out of his pocket. He muttered something, and I could surprisingly tell what he said. He told it, "Find." The glowing light from the end of the object started coming closer and closer to me. It got awfully close, and he started coming toward me. I got scared and yelled, "Stop!" Something erupted from my necklace, and hit the ball, forcing the light from it to go away. The boy could see me now, because my necklace was lighting up. I ripped it off and threw it to the ground, afraid it might be on fire or something.
"What happened?!" I yelled.
"Shhhh! We aren't supposed to be here! If they hear us, who knows what they'll say!" The boy sounded scared, so of course, it scared me too.
"Well," I whispered, can you fix my necklace? And who are 'they'? What did you do with that whole light thing? What is in your pocket? What did.."
"Okay I'll explain later," he cut me off-how rude- and started looking around as if someone would just come out of nowhere. "First of all, my name is, Max. Can you tell me yours?"
"I'm Rosalyn, but you can call me Rose, or anything else you'd like." I hoped he couldn't hear my heart beating. It was quite loud to me.
"Nice to meet you Rosalyn. Now follow me to my room. You're not supposed to go in my room, but we will make an exception. Well that is, if no one finds out." Max told me.
"Don't you have a roommate though?" I asked. "I mean Autumn told me everyone had to have a roommate."
"No I don't, but boys and girls aren't supposed to be in the same room. However, they did put the rooms right next to each other. Although, people who follow the rules don't know that."
I thought about how Autumn said that if I had a question to ask the people in the room to the left of mine.
"Is that why Autumn didn't want me to knock on the door to the right? Because that is the boys room?" I asked Max. He seemed smart, and seemed to know a lot.
"Ya most likely. Now I trust you don't know which room is yours?" Max prompted.
"No I don't. Is there a number I should remember?"
"Normally they tell you the next morning, but in your case, they can't."
I followed Max thought the maze they call a hall. I recognized some plant, like the one I jumped into, but other than that, I had no idea where I was. Speaking of that plant, I felt itchy and nauseous from it. Not normally and affect for diving into plants. I hoped it wasn't magic or something. Haha! I crack myself up! There is no such thing as magic! Well at least that's what I thought..
