As I walked home that day I couldn't help but wonder what was in the woods. It had always been an ambition of mine to find out what was lurking in the hidden, dark fortress. Many people had gone missing and from time to time people would accuse wolves of attacking them. Of course these accusations sounded like nonsense, everyone knows that wolves haven't been spotted in Arcadia for decades. And from what biologists believe they're extinct. I've never believed that though, because deep down I know they're still around, deep down I know that one day I'll find them. But first, I've got to find where they lurk.

I was only 9 when my brother left, my parents told me it was for my safety. They didn't tell me anything else, not why he left and not why he didn't say goodbye. He was only 13, four years older than me. It's been four years now, since I've seen him. I can't help but wonder will I have to leave to? Because I'm 13 now the same age as him when he left our little cottage. I can't help but wonder, will I be next?

I had been sleeping for only about an hour when I felt a terrible pain rip through me. I don't know what it was that made me feel so ill. I woke up and I knew I had to leave. I walked outside and had a sudden urge to run. My hearing seemed more sensitive than usual, I could hear every little cricket chirp and every little rustle of leaves. My vision also seemed improved, it was like I had a sixth sense. I ran for miles but the weird thing about it, is that I ran for all those miles on all fours.
But the weirdest thing of all, is that it was a full moon.

The next morning, I felt like I had to tell someone about my strange experience.
I sat down at the dining table waiting for my parents to join, I didn't know how to tell them I had to fit it in to the conversation some how.
"Uhh...ma last night, you'll never guess, the strangest thing happened."
My ma looked at my pa with a look of concern.
"We knew this day would come"
pa sounded worried.
"The same thing happened to your brother, that's why he left."
"Why didn't you tell me?" I questioned. "We knew with your adventurous spirit, you would go looking for him. Now you have to leave to, you're not a pup anymore, we can't risk it."

I left that night, I didn't know where I was going all I was told is that if I followed my nose I would get there. And hopefully see my brother again, I wasn't to see my parents again, or even come into the village.
I followed where my nose took me, I ended up in a clearing in the middle of the woods. I heard growling around me it was only one growl though. That's when I heard it
"Skyla is it really you?"
I was scared and then I saw him "Christopher?"
